You can assume that you already know the address of the connected computer. Now you should check its availability from the Internet. This is done through the command line, in which you need to enter a special command. For example, ping 213.170.193.1, in this case, this IP for some computer is static, so instead you should substitute your address. After pressing Enter, it will take a while to wait. If the statistics indicate 0% of losses, then the computer pings well, that is, you can see it from the network. Otherwise, either it does not ping, or you entered its address incorrectly.

Now you can connect to the remote desktop via the Internet. On the computer with which you plan to dock, you need to make a note that access is allowed to it. This is done in its properties, namely in the tab of remote sessions. It should also identify users for whom it was decided to allow such access. The selected user must be with a password. Next, you should check if the 3389 port is open. Now you can configure the router. In the "Port Forwarding" section, you should fill in certain fields, specifying the address of the device to which you are going to connect.

Now you can configure the connection to the remote desktop. On the device from which the connection will be realized, it is necessary to enter the external static address that you previously paged. After that, you need to "Connect", and then you need to enter a username with a password. This is about the data that was previously allowed to connect to a remote computer. Another pair of login-password simply will not work for this case.
