Children's railway in Kiev: price, photo, reviews

For many decades the children's railway in Kiev was one of the favorite kinds of entertainment for boys and girls. It safely exchanged the seventh decade and continues to this day, bringing joy to the young residents of the capital of Ukraine and its guests.

Prehistory

In the USSR, great attention was paid to the vocational guidance of the younger generation. For this, boys and girls tried to generate interest in various demanded professions from an early age. That is why the initiative of the Georgian railway workers, who in 1935 established the first railway in Tiflis (now Tbilisi), was also picked up in other republics of the Soviet Union. Over the next 6 years, about 20 children's railways began to operate in the country (in Moscow, Yerevan, Poti, Gorky, etc.). They served not just an attraction designed for the entertainment of children. All the "official duties" on the ChRW, of course, under the supervision with the support of adults, were performed by boys and girls aged 10-15 years. During the war years, many children's railways of the USSR were destroyed or ceased to function, but in the second half of the twentieth century, they were rebuilt and built more than a dozen new ones, including in the territory of modern Ukraine.

Opening of the Kiev ChR

In 1953, the Park of the name of the 40th anniversary of October (now Syretsky) was built in the capital of the Ukrainian SSR. Initially, it was created as a place where the children's railway will operate. In Kiev, by that time, the circle "The Young Railwayman" had already been organized. There, the children studied the specialties of the machinist, the dispatcher, the station attendant, the conductor and the cashier.

Very soon the Park named after the 40th anniversary of October became a favorite place for family rest in Kiev and guests of the capital of Soviet Ukraine. They equipped a children's playground, where today there are simulators for those who want to maintain themselves in good physical condition.

Initially, there were 3 stations: "Komsomolskaya" (main), "Pioneer" and "Technical".

In the 80 years, the Children's Railway in Kiev, reviewed below, served passengers, launching 3 trainings for 4 cars. Each had a name and was painted in a specific color. The first was called "Eaglet", and its cars were recognized from afar by their red-brown coloration. The second - "Cheburashka" (later "Kid") - was green, and the third - "Pioneer" - blue.

In the 1990s, for some reason, the park fell into disrepair and almost completely closed.

Reconstruction

In 2001 Syretsky Park carried out large-scale works. At the head station "Cherry" built a training building with a computer room and two classes. In addition, landscaped territory and repaired locomotives TU7 and 3 cars Pafawag. Construction of the depot was also started, but it was completed only in 2005. At the same time, a steam locomotive Gr-336 was delivered to the children's railway in Kiev. In addition, for the rolling stock was equipped with a fenced area.

Description

Today Syretsky Park is a cozy green zone, along the perimeter of which the railway tracks are laid. DSB is equipped with 6 operating traffic lights, train, station and locomotive radio, semi-automatic blocking of tracks and other equipment. Wagons and locomotives of the children's railway of Kiev (photo above) delight the eye with a magnificent interior and exterior. They are serviced by young guides who check tickets from passengers and mark them with a punch. At the stations they change, and the repair boys check the technical condition of the rolling stock.

Route

The first thing that interests those who decided to visit the children's railway in Kiev is the train timetable. It is quite simple. In summer, on weekends and holidays, trains leave from Yablonka station starting from 11:00 every 20 minutes. They reach the station "Cherry" along the circular paths with a total length of 2.8 km and move back to the main apron across the bridge-viaduct. It was built over a deep ravine, where during the war the Nazi concentration camp was located, at an altitude of 19.6 meters and has a length of 100 meters.

The duration of the trip is 20 minutes. On the road, passengers have the opportunity to admire the beautiful scenery.

Rolling stock

Every year, on the day of the opening of the season or on important holidays, a steam engine-veteran Gr-336 is on the way. This narrow-gauge locomotive, which was supplied to the USSR from Germany in the post-war period, operates on firewood. It weighs 26 tons and is capable of a speed of 35 km / h. By the way, in Kiev there are only 2 locomotives. On the second of them excursions from the Central Station of Kiev are made. A couple of decades ago it was modernized, and it works on fuel oil. So, in order to ride a real locomotive, which is heated with firewood, the visitors of Syretsky Park have to build a long queue.

In 2013 on the children's railway in Kiev received three cars PV51, of which the second train was formed. Unfortunately, the project on which it was supposed to cross the routes of two locomotives with cars moving towards each other was never realized.
