Rostovka snowboard is selected individually

To understand how to choose the right snowboard, first you need to decide what style will be skating. Snowboards are divided into soft and hard, each kind is designed for a certain style. Soft are designed for skiing on neat slopes of mountains outside the track, hard - for freestyle or freeride.

Snowboard, or rather - its shape, plays a significant role in the selection. At the freestyle board, both ends are equally rounded and have the shape of a twin-type, for freeride - a directional shape, with ends one longer than the other. There are universal snowboards that allow you to ride both on the track and in the park, both in freestyle and freeride style. They have low stiffness and different lengths of the rear and front parts.

Another important criterion for choosing is snowboarding. This means that the length of the board to be selected must be proportional to the dew and weight of the athlete. Usually it is attached snowboarding in the form of a table, but in order not to be mistaken, it is better to consult a sales consultant.
Here's an example of a snowboard for snowboarding in freeride style:

With a weight of 40-50 kg:
  • Height 150-165 cm - length - 135 cm
  • Height 165-175 cm - length - 145 cm
  • Height 175-185 cm - length - 150 cm
  • Height from 185 cm - length - 155 cm
At a weight of 60-75 kg:
  • Height 150-165 cm - length - 150 cm
  • Height 165-175 cm - length - 155 cm
  • Height 175-185 cm - length - 155 cm
  • Height from 185 cm - length - 160 cm
At weight in 50-60 kg:
  • Height 150-165 cm - length - 150 cm
  • Height 165-175 cm - length - 155 cm
  • Height 175-185 cm - length - 155 cm
  • Height from 185 cm - length - 160 cm
With a weight of 75 kg:
  • Height 150-165 cm - length - 155 cm
  • Height 165-175 cm - length - 160 cm
  • Height 175-185 cm - length - 160 cm
  • Height from 185 cm - length - from 165 cm

For skiing in the style of freestyle, the snowboarding should be less than five centimeters. For the style of slalom hard boards are chosen, and for each individual there is a snowboard.

The material from which the sliding surface is made should also be taken into consideration when selecting, since the speed of the board and its performance depend on this.

Types of sliding surfaces:

- graphite - high-speed and the most slippery surface, soft, therefore quickly wear out;

- graphite with the addition of polyethylene - high-slip, wear-resistant;

- polyethylene - speed indicators are low, but durable.

For skating speed, it is important what the sliding surface is treated with. It is lubricated with the compounds most suitable for the necessary weather conditions and air temperature.

It is worth mentioning about other important indicators for choosing the board.

1) The width of the board depends on how much it will be stable and manageable. The wider the board, the more stable it will be in the snow, but the steering is less pliable.

2) If the board is too heavy, it will be difficult to perform jumps on it, and climbing the mountainside with additional weight will not be so easy.

3) The length of the contiguous part of the board with snow. The shorter - the better in management, the longer - the more stable.

4). The component of rigidity. Than the board is softer, the better in the landing, but high speed keeps uneven. The thicker the board, the worse the damping, but at a higher speed is more stable.

5) Mounting. It is purchased separately from the board. There are three types:

- soft - it is a plastic or metal plate with a back, supporting the leg, and straps on the treshchetkah;

- hard - it's fastenings with boots, like mountain skis;

Step-in fastening (Step-in) - automatic fastening.

6). Shoes:

- Soft - used when riding in the style of freestyle and freeride. Choose carefully. Boots should clearly fix the leg, be comfortable and size in size;

- Hard - are used for slalom and carving. There are such shoes from two layers. External - plastic, inner - soft, removable. It is desirable that the shoes have as many clips as possible.

Considering that, in addition to the board, it is necessary to purchase accessories, the cost of a quality snowboard can reach up to fifteen thousand and more.
