All breeds of chickens are classified into two main directions: meat (broilers) and egg (layers). What kind of bird to start depends on the wishes of the owner of the farmstead. This name was given to this bird for the color of its feathers, which has a pronounced red hue. "Foxy-chic" is translated from English as "fox chicken". These chickens were brought to Ukraine from Hungary. Hence their second name is the "Hungarian giant". These are really very large chickens. Owners of homesteads often call them "red broilers". Features of the exterior of the breed include:

• Large size and some squat. Externally, the chick fox-chick is very similar to the bird of the well-known master-gray breed, but has somewhat shorter legs.
• Fluffy, thick plumage, the shade of which can vary from fiery-red to brownish-red.
• Yellow, powerful legs.
• Broad chest.
• A bright red leaf-like comb and earrings of the same color.

Features of the breed

Contain this bird is not at all more difficult than ordinary laying hens. These chickens grow a little slower than broilers, but their survival rate is much higher. This indicator can reach 100% of the brood. To the behavioral characteristics of the chickens of this breed can be attributed, above all, pugnaciousness. Features of feeding

The main part of their diet is made up of grains and legumes. This can be, for example, wheat, corn, barley or peas. Of course, you need to give chickens and poultry. Features of the content

An aviary for chickens of this breed can be small. Because their plumage is magnificent, they feel great even in a sharply continental climate. To heat the winter house in the middle of Russia is not necessary. However, to lay the floor with a thick layer of straw, of course, is worth it. In such a litter, various biological processes with the release of heat begin to occur over time. As a result, in winter, the layer begins to function as a natural "heater". Prostelit floors can not only straw, but, for example, sawdust or hay. It's not time to stop chickens foxy-chick in the cold season.

In the summer, the shed should not be too hot. In any case, ventilation in the form of at least one opening window should be arranged. Nasties and feeders are arranged in the usual way.
