Cervical cancer: symptoms, causes, treatment

Among the many varieties of cancer, cervical cancer takes the leading place , the symptoms of which must be known to every girl. Since it is known that the sooner the treatment of any disease begins, the more successful it will be, it is very important to diagnose the abnormalities as early as possible. Even better, if you can establish background or precancerous processes that arise in the body of a woman. They are usually referred to as erosion, epithelial dysplasia, leukoplakia, and some other disorders. With their timely diagnosis, it is usually possible to prevent oncology. Cervical cancer, the causes or prerequisites of which are established in a timely manner, is subject to complete cure.

The question of how cervical cancer manifests itself must worry every woman. For the prevention of this terrible disease it is recommended that every girl who has reached puberty, at least once in six months visit a gynecologist, undergo medical examinations, take tests, conduct an independent examination of her body, carefully monitor all the abnormalities that arise in the body.

Cervical cancer. Symptoms of the disease:

  • Sometimes, scarce spotting is possible, especially after intimacy;
  • The appearance of blood in the urine;
  • Bleeding after the onset of menopause;
  • Long and very painful periods ;
  • Painful sensations during intimacy;
  • Weak pains in the lower abdomen, extremities or lower back;
  • At a certain stage, a sharp weight loss occurs;
  • Fast fatiguability.

The doctor can determine the presence of mutated cells in the smear, after which he will appoint ultrasound, tomogram, colposcopy and biopsy. It is these studies that will make it possible not only to establish correctly whether or not there is a prerequisite for oncology, but also to indicate to the experts the correct methods of treatment. The choice of them also depends on the type of cancer. It is known that only ten percent of women suffer from adenocarcinoma, and in other cancer patients, a squamous cell type of cancer is diagnosed.

Cervical cancer, the symptoms of which are listed above, arise against the backdrop of various abnormalities or diseases that the patient suffers. They can be completely different.

Cervical cancer: the causes of the disease

  • Herpes virus. 95% of the inhabitants of the Earth are infected with it. Despite the fact that first of all herpes is manifested on the face (it is often called a "cold on the lips"), untimely treatment, it can develop into genital herpes and then into the oncological lesion of internal organs.
  • Human papillomavirus. They are known for more than a hundred, but not all lead to oncology. Determine the strain of the virus and, therefore, its danger can only be done by careful examination. Infection occurs only with human-to-human contact. If the virus is not found on time, it can provoke the development of dysplasia, which, in its essence, is a precancerous condition.
  • Injuries of the cervix.
  • Sexual life started in early adolescence. Cervical cancer (the symptoms of which are easy to miss, if you do not undergo examinations with a specialist) in this case comes from traumatizing the unripe genitals.
  • Random sex life.
  • Multiple abortions.
  • Venereal diseases.
  • Smoking.
  • Hormonal disorders on the background of aging. It has been established that in most cases, women develop cancer after 40 years. After sixty the peak of the disease is reduced.
  • Incorrect way of life, excessive or, conversely, insufficient weight.
  • Genetic predisposition. However, this reason is controversial, not all experts agree with it.
  • Depression, nervous breakdowns, psychosomatic diseases (also a very controversial reason, which is not recognized by all oncologists).

Medical statistics found that 40% of women diagnosed with "cervical cancer", the symptoms of the manifested disease were ignored, so they sought help at stage 3-4 of the disease, when the treatment is as difficult or impossible.

With timely access to a doctor, cervical cancer can be cured.

Today, several methods of treatment are used: surgical, combined radiation and combined. The latter implies the joint use of surgical methods and chemotherapy or radiation and chemical therapy. The choice of method of treatment depends on the patient's condition, the features of the disease, the stage of its neglect.

Usually at the preinvasive stage, especially in women under the age of 50, only conical removal of the cervix is used. With this low-traumatic method, the possibility of becoming pregnant and bearing a child is completely preserved. In case of recurrent disease or in older women, the uterus and appendages are removed completely.

Every girl should remember that the more often she visits a doctor, the less likely she is to get a terrible diagnosis. In the case of a disease, early diagnosis is a guarantee of successful cure.
