"Castle of Cagliostro". Life is worth living for the sake of adventure

Hayao Miyazaki always said that life is worth living. It does not matter how many obstacles there are on your way, it does not matter how far it has come to a standstill. Life always gives amazing moments, unexpected encounters, and everything will be as it should be. In the endless veil of gray everyday life there is always room for bright colors. Life is an amazing thing, especially when stereotypical stories, where good triumphs over evil, fade before the legend of how evil protects good (Hayao Miyazaki, "The Castle of Cagliostro").

Who is Miyazaki?

Before proceeding to the story of the castle of Cagliostro, it is worth getting acquainted with his director.

Hayao Miyazaki can be called a guru to create masterpieces. The Japanese animated director and writer was first seen at Toei's studio, where he worked as a character artist. Here he meets with Isao Takahata, he creates an alliance of animators, struggles to improve working conditions. In early 1971 he moved to work at TMS Entertainment. Two years later, in 1973, together with Isao goes to the studio Nippon Animation.

For the first time I tried myself as a director in 1978, presenting the world with the series "Conan the Boy from the Future". After the debut he returns to "TMS Entertainment" and in 1979 releases the film "The Castle of Cagliostro".

In 1985 the Studio "Gibli" was founded. It is here that true masterpieces of full-length Japanese animation are created. For all the time the studio was released about 12 works. To each of them Miyazaki paid special attention, correcting and correcting every detail.

Cagliostro Castle

This was the first full-length animation of a famous director. He is a model of total animation (when in the scene the drawings change not only the characters, but also the background) and is included in the list of the best anime in Japan. "Castle of Cagliostro" - Hayao Miyazaki's debut work as the only director. Also Miyazaki participates in the creation of the script and design of the film. December 15, 1979 "Castle Cagliostro" goes on screens, for its development was spent 7.5 months.

Plot: how it all began

Arsene Lupine III - a jack of all trades in the field of theft. When the money stolen from the casino turned out to be unreal, he throws them out and heads to Cagliostro. On the way past him, a car is rushing past, behind the wheel of which sits a girl in a wedding dress. Lupine remarks that there is a chase behind her, and decides to help. In the end, the car of the bride is broken, and she is kidnapped. However, she loses the ring, the seal on which seems familiar to Lupine, therefore, together with his partner in the theft of Dzigen, he goes to the ruins of one burnt castle. In this palace once Archduke Cagliostro died, but his coat of arms is similar to the one depicted on the ring.

Not far from the ruins of the castle is a castle, near it Arsen notices the boat on which the girl was taken. Lupine well remembers that castle: once he miraculously escaped, fleeing from it. As it turns out later, the girl Arsen was trying to save is called Clarissa. She is the daughter of the late Archduke Cagliostro. The castle, where she was brought, belongs to Count Cagliostro, who wants to force Clarissa to marry to find uncounted treasures and absolute power.

Fearless Lupine

Lupine tells the count that he intends to save Clarissa. At this time, having learned that a well-known thief-recidivist threatens a public person, Inspector Dzenigata appears on the island. He suspects that the count is unclean, but his task is to find and arrest Lupine. Despite the increased protection, Arsen sneaks into the rooms of Clarissa and gives her a ring, which later turns out to be a fake.

In an absurd combination of circumstances, the inspector and Lupine fall into the trap, which leads them to the basement. Here they decide to unite and find evidence against the count. Having escaped from the dungeon, they find a shop where fake bills are printed. Lupine arranges a fire to save the princess under the guise. However, the escape ends in failure. Arsen gets wounded, but the real ring falls into the hands of the count.

Hidden Treasures

On the day of the wedding, the thief arranges a grandiose show. Thanks to the reporters, the world learns that the count prints counterfeit money, and Lupine, disguised as a Pope, escapes with Clarissa. But the way to them is blocked by a count who wants to receive treasures, which will be revealed to him who will have two family rings.

Heroes are in the building with a clockwork. There is a statue in which you need to put two rings, and then there will be treasures. The count changes Clarissa to her family ring and tries to start the clockwork. The clock strangles him with arrows, and the secret device drains the lake that surrounds the castle, and treasures appear - an ancient Roman city.

For Lupine, such a treasure is of no value, and he again sets out on his journey, promising Clarisse that if she finds herself in trouble again, he will certainly come to her aid.

On this adventure, Clarissa ends. The girl has the opportunity to lead a calm and measured life, she in fact - not Lupine. The castle of Cagliostro for the hero was another adventure, which ended well, because in this big world there was at least one place where it will be awaited. In a quiet and measured life there is always a place for adventure, amazing meetings and coincidences. And for this it is worth living.
