Carpet by yourself: step-by-step instruction

Carpets were still from our ancestors and were considered a subject of art, as their dressing took a lot of time, patience and strength. Do not despair when remembering the painstaking and long work, because you can make a carpet yourself. Undoubtedly, it is necessary to allocate a lot of time, but the result will justify itself.

For self-weaving carpet you will need:

• Four-meter length of black fabric (ideally, use black cloth);
• Four boards with parameters 2x2x6, on the basis of which a frame will be created;
• Aluminum nails;
• White sheets 2 pieces, you can use not new ones;
• Ruler and pencil;
• a hammer.

Before we make a carpet with our own hands, we need to build a kind of wooden loom. Dimensions of the boards should be selected in accordance with the size of the carpet, which you plan to weave. To avoid the shakiness of our design, it is necessary to score a pair of nails at each intersection of the boards.

Cut a small strip from the sheet in the following way: before reaching the edge, turn in the opposite direction and cut the whole sheet in this way. This method will avoid multiple nodes. Now our base fabric is ready and we can proceed. When our product is ready, it can be used as a carpet in the nursery.

It is necessary to tie a knot of the free plan on our first strip and tie it to the first left nail from below, then to the upper left and in such spirit to continue until the base is completed. The second sheet break into strips, from which remove the protruding threads, so that they do not interfere and do not spoil the aesthetic appearance, while you do the carpet yourself. Now everything is the same, only with a black cloth.

We take the first strip with which we started, we tie the knot and we weave once outside, and another time from the inside until you reach the end. Having reached the opposite edge, the strip should be fixed and set off on the return journey, observing the order of the external and internal stretching of the tissue. After that, both bands need to be sealed to avoid ugly holes, and continue in the same spirit until the end of the carpet.

If you want to make a rug not from ordinary matter, but from more expensive and beautiful, then the principle remains the same. For example, a silk carpet will look much richer than normal. But not only the beautiful appearance depends on the material. Try to experiment with the color scheme. A richer carpet made of silk material, red-blue or red-yellow will look much richer.
