Bus station "Yalta" - gateway to the Crimean city of the sun

One of the most popular cities of the southern coast of the Crimea is Yalta. She beckons as lovers to luxuriate on the beach, and those who prefer to explore attractions and other outdoor activities. Young people are attracted to the night life, because the city's clubs offer entertainment until the morning. Even those who rest on other resorts, even for a day come here. And the majority begins acquaintance with the city from the arrival at the bus station "Yalta".

How to get there?

Strangely enough, such a popular city does not have either an airport or a railway station. Their construction complicates the proximity of mountains and the sea, so the Soviet authorities decided that it would be more profitable to develop a road network. Now the bus station "Yalta" has a large number of routes, along which long-distance and even international buses run.

If you need to get to Yalta from any other city of the Crimean peninsula, safely go for a ticket to the bus. This is the most profitable and rather quick way to travel around the republic. Guests of Yalta can travel with the same ease along the peninsula, getting on buses to interesting sights.

The way to Yalta from Simferopol

Traveling from afar, you can fly by plane to the only Crimean airport, located near Simferopol. Only Russian airlines fly to the Crimea, international flights as of spring 2016 are still banned due to the political situation. But the prices for tickets are available to most tourists, they are compensated by state subsidies. It is especially advantageous to travel by plane, if the flight replaces the road by land transport, which takes several days.

Direct buses to the bus station "Yalta" run straight from the terminal building. If you want to get to the nearest ship for a few hours, but want to get to the sea as soon as possible, then it's enough to take any bus passing the central bus station or the Kurortnaya station. From them, a lot of buses and minibuses are constantly shuttling to Yalta, which will be delivered to the destination within a maximum of 2 hours. The cost of the ticket for different routes is slightly different, on average it is 100-150 rubles.

The taxi will cost at least 1500-2000 rubles, and the journey will take a little over an hour. It is better to order a car through the service than to catch a private driver. If you still decide to negotiate yourself, then immediately specify the amount and specify whether it is for all passengers or for each.

The most famous trolleybus

This mode of transport is worth mentioning separately. In addition to the lines inside the cities, there are inter-city routes in the Crimea. In just an hour you can reach the destination on trolleybus No. 53 from Alushta. The road from Simferopol will take up to 2.5 hours. There is a route number 55 from the airport and route number 52 from the station "Kurortnaya" near the railway station. The route connecting Simferopol with Yalta is recognized as the longest, which is noted in the Guinness Book of Records. The length of the route is 84 km, and from the airport to Yalta - 96 km.

The Crimean trolleybus is not much slower than intercity buses, and the price is not much different either. The terminal stop of the trolleybus is on the same street (Moscow) as the bus station "Yalta" - you just need to cross the road.

History of the bus station

Passenger communication with the southern coast of the Crimea began to develop especially actively since 1861. Then people traveled by car and carts (multi-seat carriages) to the station at the intersection of Massandra and Post Street. The very name of the latter went from the fact that, except for people, the wagons delivered letters and other postal items.

A century later the bus station moved a little along Pochtovaya Street. The appearance and distribution of vehicles with gasoline engines was shown on the transportation: guests arrived at the resort in buses and diesel trolleybuses. The number of vehicles grew, and new roads were built. After the construction of the circuit route, from which departed routes to Simferopol and Sevastopol, it was decided to build a new station near such a convenient transport hub.

The architect G. Chakhava was involved in the work. It was he who proposed the project, thanks to which the bus station "Yalta" for many years looks modern. Because of the many windows that merge into two glass walls, the structure is sometimes called an aquarium. In addition to the station building, road junctions were created. The grand opening took place in mid-December 1966 in honor of the half-century anniversary of Soviet power.

Now an increasing flow of tourists did not immediately fall into the center of the city, and was redirected already by domestic flights to the right part of the city. The best way to get to Foros, Alupka and the city known as Big Yalta is the bus station. The telephone for clarifying the schedule and booking of tickets: +7 (3654) 34-23-84.
