Army obstacle course: from the TRP to the present

Training strip, the filling of which for more than 80 years practically does not change, and to this day is an effective method of training military personnel. It's time to find out what it is and where it finds application.

Constituent elements of the obstacle course

The army's obstacle course measures 150-200 meters in length. Its mission is to develop the skills of military personnel to overcome obstacles often encountered on the battlefield, develop dexterity, quick reaction, endurance, and make the force loads more intense. It is used to train not only the Russian army, but also in the overwhelming majority of the armies of other countries, as well as special services and law enforcement agencies.

It occurs on the ranges of military units either in the standard version, or in the form of a section of 40 x 90 meters, or in the form of long routes of 3-5 km. Obstacles are located either one after another, or in the form of parallel bands connected by transitions, or as a circle, or as a figure-eight.

The army obstacle course usually includes the following structures:

  • Palisade with a smooth surface;
  • Parallel to the ground log;
  • Fence;
  • Labyrinth-snake;
  • trench;
  • Trench for throwing grenades ;
  • A wire fence;
  • "The destroyed ladder";
  • "Ruined bridge";
  • Ditch;
  • A wall with two breaks;
  • Tunnel - underground laz;
  • A dummy for testing strokes with a butt and bayonet.

Where is it used?

The army's obstacle course finds application in our country both in the military sphere and in the civil sphere:

  • A 200-meter obstacle course is an obligatory training base for the Russian armed forces.
  • In the training of marines and airborne troops, obstacles are significantly complicated: a perpendicular fence is made hanging or having a slope, barbed wire is stretched over the mud areas, the underground laz is built with numerous turns, sudden descents. Also new elements are added: water obstacles, smoke and fire screen, explosives, shooting targets, practicing hand-to-hand combat techniques, climbing training, parachute jumping.
  • Used, but only in the form of a pair start, in competitions for military eventing.
  • It takes place in the training of firefighters, dog handlers with four-cowed colleagues.
  • Game variants are used in sports relay races for children.

History

The technique of overcoming the strip Soviet military personnel owned even before the Great Patriotic War. The army obstacle course was one of the components of the complex "Ready for Labor and Defense". By the way, the widespread prevalence of this element of physical education in schools, universities, factories and factories, state and collective farms is considered one of the reasons for the Victory of the USSR. After entering the complex exercises train dexterity, endurance, quickness, visibly strengthen the body, develop intelligence.

The army obstacle course was the most important applied exercise of the TRP complex. And thousands of ordinary Soviet citizens who had the TRP badge had the skills to successfully pass it.
