Anxiolytic and sedative drug "Dormikum": instruction for use

The tool "Dormikum" instruction characterizes as a hypnotic drug, a member of the benzodiazepine group of derivatives. Assigning anxiolytic capsules "Dormikum" instruction recommends, mainly, for the treatment of people suffering from insomnia or any other disorders associated with falling asleep and early awakening. In addition, experts actively use this sedative in combination with ketamine in ataralgesia in young patients. During premedication, the use of myorelaxing drug "Dormikum" is also shown before carrying out various surgical and diagnostic procedures. Tablets are recommended for long-term sedation. In addition, this anticonvulsant is administered intravenously as anesthesia for inhalation anesthesia.

Assigning anxiolytic tablets "Dormikum" instruction strictly does not recommend people with individual intolerance to midazolam, as well as to all those who suffer from severe myasthenia gravis. If you have a sleep disorder caused by severe forms of depression or psychosis, you should also refrain from using this myorelaxing medication. In addition, contraindications are pregnancy (especially the first trimester), children's age and lactation. In the latter case, during the treatment it is necessary to completely stop lactation. With extreme caution, prescribe an anticonvulsant drug "Dormikum" in case the patient has heart failure, organic brain damage, respiratory or liver failure, and sleep apnea. In addition, this sedative should be administered only under medical supervision to women during the second or third trimester of pregnancy.

If we talk about possible side reactions provoked by the use of the anxiolytic drug Dormikum, then first of all it is necessary to distinguish such states as bradycardia, laryngospasm, respiratory depression, headache, hallucinations, vomiting, nausea, hiccough, drowsiness, dyspnea and ataxia. In addition, some patients complain of apnea, increased pressure, cramps, skin rash and hives. There is also a risk of developing anterograde amnesia and an excessive sedative effect.
