Almond peeling for the face at home: features of use, contraindications and reviews

A healthy and radiant skin is the main "weapon" with which a woman feels beautiful and young. In pursuit of this ideal, ladies are not afraid of painful procedures, long rehabilitations and possible consequences. Fortunately, cosmetology every year finds new ways to help in this. Already there are such procedures that minimize such risks and give women the long-awaited impeccable condition of the skin. It's about one of these methods - almond peeling.

What is almond peeling?

Almond peeling of the face is a kind of chemical peeling, the active ingredient of which is mandelic acid. This procedure is referred to as superficial and the most mild methods of deep cleansing and renewal of facial skin. This is due to the fact that phenoxy glycol (almond) acid has molecules of a larger size than the usual glycol (the main active substance for peeling). The first slowly penetrates deep into the epidermis and more gently contributes to its renewal.

Almond acid has a number of unique properties, thanks to which this kind of peeling becomes more popular. It has a keratolytic property: it effectively cleanses the skin and at the same time nourishes it. Antiseptic action of the acid is manifested in the drying of acne, the treatment of acne, the regulation of the skin glands, which solves the problem of fatty luster, expansion of the pores and clogging.

Almond acid has a lifting action: it tightens the skin, stimulates the work of collagen fibers, which ultimately smoothes shallow wrinkles. Means are used for this purpose and for the elaboration of the décolleté zone and hands.

Who will do the procedure?

Almond peeling for the face is chosen by those who are tired of daily and ineffective cleaning of the face, who want to forget about fat gloss, rashes, dullness and other skin problems for a long time. Therefore, the indications for the procedure are:

  • Acne eruptions, comedones, acne, oily seborrhea;
  • Pigmentation of the skin (including freckles);
  • Kuperoz, expansion of pores;

  • This type of peeling is effective in working with skin of different phototype.
  • Suitable for oily, combined and enlarged skin pores, improves gland function, making the derma look much healthier.
  • Activates the renewal of skin cells with the first and obvious signs of aging, eliminates small wrinkles.
  • This option is both a more gentle way to clean the face, and the preparatory stage for a more serious intervention like laser resurfacing.

Disadvantages of the procedure

Almond peeling for the face has several negative consequences, which can be attributed to the shortcomings of this method.

  1. The aggravation of herpes.
  2. Skin burns.
  3. Puffiness.
  4. Appearance of age spots.

Any procedures of this kind require compliance with the rules of the rehabilitation period. The almond peeling is much less, but they are:

  • Use sunscreen for up to a month after the procedure to prevent hyperpigmentation;
  • Restriction in sports activities, because the allocation of sweat complicates the process of separation of skin scales;
  • Visit the sauna, tanning beds should be postponed for several weeks after the last peeling procedure.

Contraindications to the procedure

If there are no contraindications to the procedure, the actions should still be carried out step by step and carefully monitor the condition of the skin throughout the course. It is not necessary to force events: almond peeling is best done in several sessions (up to 10) and once a week. After a systematic holding of all stages, you can feel the desired result without negative consequences for the skin of the face. So, 1 procedure includes several actions:

  • Thorough makeup removal;
  • Cleansing the face with lotion, tonic, which contains a small amount of mandelic acid (up to 10%);
  • Then apply a 5 percent solution of mandelic acid (this is the weakest concentrate that will show the effect of acid on the skin of the face);

  • To withstand no more than 20 minutes;
  • In case of appearance of unpleasant consequences, the acid should be removed with a special neutralizer or abundantly rinsed with water;
  • At the end of the procedure you should apply a soothing mask (can be based on calendula), moisturizing cream.

After such procedure, active skin peeling begins in 24 hours, this is a normal process of renewing the epidermis layer, which has started almond face peeling. After this, you must follow all the rules of care described.

What is needed for peeling?

The first and the main, of course, is mandelic acid. It can be of different concentrations. It must be mixed with a certain amount of water. So, for a 10% solution per 1 ml, 7 ml of water is needed.

Often it is recommended not to use it in its pure form, but to make mixtures: with apple, wine, glycolic and others. But as the skin reacts to other types of acids, no one knows, so it is better not to do this without consulting a specialist.

Even for the salon procedure, beauticians recommend doing preliminary actions: two weeks to apply on the skin cream with a small amount of mandelic acid in the composition. This will prepare her for the main course. During the procedure, can recommend the use of antioxidants, vitamins, which promote skin regeneration and enhance immunity.

Regardless of whether the house or the salon will be peeling, you will need to acquire sunscreen (even for the autumn-winter period) and nutritious creams.

Alternative ways of using almonds for peeling

Almond peeling for the face at home, cosmetologists and doctors advise making it still safer. This means that there are alternative ways to use almonds for face cleaning along with more dangerous mandelic acid. We offer several such methods:

  1. Cleansing mask based on almonds and oatmeal. It should be mixed in a 1: 1 ratio of ground nuts and flour, add half the dried milk and dilute all with a little water to the cream. The mixture is applied to the skin, aged for 20 minutes, then rinsed off with warm water.
  2. With oils and vinegar. To crushed nuts should be added honey, grape seed oil or olive oil, 3 drops of apple cider vinegar (5%). The mixture applied to the skin should be easily rubbed (as with a conventional scrub) and left for 5 minutes.
  3. With aloe juice. On 2 parts of chopped almonds you will need 2 parts of aloe juice, water, oatmeal (flour from oats), 1 part of almond oil, a couple of drops of lavender oil. Dry ingredients should be poured very warm water (not boiling water), stir. Then add the juice and butter. Apply for 10 minutes. This mask-scrub desiccates the skin, so those who have it already dry, it is better not to experiment with it more than once every 1.5 weeks.

These methods are mechanical, not chemical, as in the case of acid, face cleaning. Hence, there are practically no contraindications, it is a softer procedure that can be carried out regularly.

Almond peeling for the face: the price of the procedure

The cost of peeling depends on the conditions in which it is performed. If this is a home procedure, the expenditure of funds will ensure only the preparation of the mixture, i.e. the purchase of almond, apple, glycolic and other acids. On average, 50 ml of the basic acid can be spent up to 100 rubles. Almond face peeling in the cabin costs, naturally, more: from tens to hundreds of dollars, depending on the level of the cabin and the quality of the means used. But it should be borne in mind: salon procedure provides for a careful selection of the necessary materials, while at home you can not calculate the proportion of the funds used and cause harm to the skin.

Almond peeling for the face: reviews

  • The first days it is better not to go out in the street, under direct sunlight or apply a cream with UV protection, otherwise you can provide yourself with additional pigmentation;
