Airport (Kostanay): history of the aerocomplex, infrastructure, technical data

During the Great Patriotic War, the aerial unit was engaged in delivering mail and cargo of various purposes to the most remote regions of Kazakhstan. In August 1942, on the basis of the Kostanay airfield, the Stalingrad aviation school was opened, which trained pilots for the front.

After the war, the Kostanay airfield resumed passenger flights and agricultural flights. By 1970, a new aerostructure Kostanay was built and opened, which successfully works to this day.

Kostanay Airport Today

Many travelers come to Kazakhstan via Narimanovka (the airport, Kostanay). Narimanovka has the status of an international aerocomplex and serves regular flights of such airlines as Air Astana, SCAT and Irtysh-Air. All airlines from the Kostanay aerostructure pass through the Astana airport.

In addition, various flights are operated here with a long stop in Alma-Ata. Flights from Almaty to the airport (Kostanay) with stops in Astana and Atyrau are made. And from Astana there are direct flights to Kostanay: the flight time is 2 hours and 20 minutes.

In addition to local air carriers, the airport in Kostanay serves the Russian company Transaero, the German Hamburg International Luftverk and Belarussian Belavia. These companies operate flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Minsk, Hanover, Munich, as well as to other cities in Russia and the countries of the near and far abroad.

The airport (Kostanay) belongs to the aerocomplexes of the second class. The airline consists of three runways. The first strip of 2,500 meters is covered with asphalt concrete. The other two strips with a length of 2,750 meters and 1,600 meters are grounded and practically not used in practice.

Aerodrome "Narimanovka" has runways, the height of which above sea level is 181 meters. The airborne unit of the 2nd class can receive air ships with a mass of up to 140 tons.
