Accidents in water parks with a fatal outcome. The highest hill in the water park

The water park is a favorite entertainment not only for children, but also for many adults. And really, what could be better than rolling at high speed with a slide and falling into the cool water. But is it such an inoffensive fun, as it seems at first glance?

History of occurrence

Water parks in Russia have emerged relatively recently. So, the first such entertaining attraction appeared in 1997 near the resort town of Tuapse. Over the past decade in the country, water parks have started to grow like mushrooms after the rain. This is not surprising. After all, most people are crazy about this water fun. Therefore, such entertainment is in great demand.

Currently, one of the largest water parks in Europe - "Tiki-Tak" - is located in Russia. It is located next to Anapa. Due to its popularity, water entertainment appeared not only in the resort and large cities of the country, but also in the provinces.

Is it safe?

Unfortunately, accidents in water parks are not that rare. They arise, as a rule, because of non-observance of safety measures by the holiday-makers themselves. Sometimes accidents happen in water parks because of technical failures in the work of attractions. So getting injuries on water slides is a fairly frequent phenomenon. Most often, injuries of varying severity are received by children. However, it also happens that a visit to the water park results in an accident with a fatal outcome.

Tragedies on the water

In 2011, Russia was shocked at the news about two children's deaths that occurred during a visit to water attractions. Both tragedies happened in the Rostov region. There, with a difference of one week, two boys drowned at the age of five. In both cases, the children were left without adult supervision and were drowned in relatively shallow basins (1.5 m). The administration of water parks was declared guilty in the death of children.

In 2013, in Mytishchi near Moscow, while swimming in the pool, a 9-year-old boy took off a life jacket and, without parental care, went to an attraction designed for older people. Subsequently, he rolled over on an inflatable "donut", which had to roll off the water slide, and choked with water. The parents noticed the loss of the child a few minutes later. Unfortunately, this time was enough for the boy to die in the water park.

By the way, a year ago, all in the same Mytischi drowned 5-year-old Kostya Shvedov. The tragedy occurred in the establishment of "Yuna Life", located in the elite sports complex. Accidents in water parks occur with frightening regularity. The death of people when visiting such attractions was recorded in Taganrog, Novocherkassk, Chelyabinsk, Moscow, Kazan, Magnitogorsk.

"Complicated story

Despite the large number of deaths on water attractions, the tragedy that occurred in 2007 in the water park of the city of Kazan is worth singling out separately. A 13-year-old boy disappeared without trace. They searched for him all: parents, rescuers, the administration and even divers. All water attractions and swimming pools were inspected, however, the boy fell through the ground. And only after 3 weeks, when the pump broke down in the water park, the locksmiths went down to the technical department, where they opened the pipe and found a terrible find. In it were the remains of a boy.

On this fact, a criminal case was opened, the investigation of which showed that the child was sucked into the collector of the water intake of one of the attractions. It was found that the velocity of the fluid exceeded the permissible norm by 4 times. And the collector opening itself was not covered by a protective grille. Therefore, a criminal case was opened. Responsibility was then attracted to an ordinary employee of the water park - a locksmith. He was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with serving his sentence in a colony-settlement. However, the fact remains that the boy died in a water park amidst a white day.

Adrenaline or unjustified risk?

It is clear that the statistics of deaths that occurred in water parks, is underway. At the same time, it is impossible to find out how many people were injured of varying degrees of gravity when visiting water rides. Accidents in water parks are often associated with getting bruises of the spine, concussion and fracture of limbs. Often the culprit of injuries is a wet floor uninstalled with a special anti-slip surface, as well as wet stairs and stairs. In the vast majority of cases, visitors get injured while in a state of intoxication. For example, in 2002, a 40-year-old man died in one of the water parks in the Moscow Region. He was too drunk. And during the slide from the hill choked his own vomit.

Rarely, who of the visitors carefully reads the rules of behavior at the attraction and listens to the safety training that is conducted by the employee. Guests do not think that a more responsible attitude to themselves and others, could reduce the sad statistics of accidents on water attractions. By the way, for each fact of causing damage to the health and life of a citizen in a water park, a criminal case was opened. But in the overwhelming majority of cases, the victims themselves were found guilty.

The highest hill in the water park

Despite the fact that in Russia recently a large number of water parks, the palm tree still belongs to foreign water attractions. For example, in Brazil there is the largest (50 meters) water slide in the world. The second largest is also located in this country. Its height is 41 meters. By the way, it is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most terrible water attraction. At the same time, the longest slide (537 meters) is in America. But one of the most extreme slides are located in Australia. Exciting emotions can be obtained on crazy rides of Japan and the UAE.

Foreign slides are more extreme. However, there the number of injuries received and cases of death of visitors - a rarity. It is connected, as a rule, with more technical equipment and safety of attractions, responsible work of employees and administration of water parks, as well as vigilance and consciousness of guests. In Russia, the situation with this, unfortunately, is much more complicated.

Summarizing

Water attractions - fun fun, extreme and exciting. However, to ensure that their visit does not end in tragedy, it is necessary to strictly observe the safety rules on the roller coaster, listen carefully to the instructors and certainly not be on the territory of the facility in a state of intoxication. Well, parents should always remember that the water park is a place of increased danger. Therefore, you can not leave your children unattended for a minute. After all, sometimes that very minute is enough to the life of the baby cut off.
