Which airport in Bulgaria are the resorts of the country?

There are six operating civil airports on the territory of Bulgaria. True, for most of the tourists there are four. Two of them are located in the central part of the country, and the rest - in its coastal areas.

Airports, which fly to the seaside resorts

There are two such air harbors. The first of them is the airport "Varna" (Bulgaria), which is located in the northeast of the country at a distance of seven and a half kilometers from the northern resort capital.

His story began a little less than a hundred years ago, when the first sheds of the hydroport were built. Flights to Sofia and back began to take place in the twentieth year of the last century. Well, the regular air service of this airport in Bulgaria with others was established only to the fifties.

The arrival of the new millennium was marked by an increase in the flow of passengers, mainly associated with an increase in the number of tourists. In 2006, a strategic decision was taken to build a second terminal. At the end of summer 2013 he will receive the first passengers.

People who fly to rest in such cities as Golden Sands, Balchik, Albena and Sunny Day, will meet in the walls of this very airport in Bulgaria.

The second air harbor, which receives tourists arriving to bask in the sun, is located about one hundred and thirty kilometers to the south. The second sea resort, which is proud of Bulgaria - Sunny Beach. The airport in question is in Bourgas.

Basically, he meets charter flights, whose flow in the season increases at times. Bourgas airport is also in the modernization stage, after which the quality of passenger service will improve, and it will be able to take them much more.

Not far from this airport in Bulgaria (in addition to Sunny Beach) are Nessebar and St. Vlas, Sozopol, Dunes and other resorts, many of which have recently been actively developed.

Aerial harbor in the central part of Bulgaria: cognitive and ski tourism

Of course, the capital of the modern state is weakly represented without a large number of travelers arriving in all possible ways: by train, bus and, of course, by plane. It is quite logical that the title of the largest airport in Bulgaria belongs to what is in Sofia, more precisely, five kilometers from it. Its construction began in the thirties of the last century. At that time, the capital was a relatively small city. It is logical that this was relatively short-lived, and with its growth, the flow of passengers also increased. In 2006, a second terminal and a runway were introduced.

Well, finally, another airport, which also seeks a considerable number of tourists, however, in the winter time - "Plovdiv". From here you can get to the ski resorts of Bulgaria, such as Bansko, Borovets and Pamporovo. This air harbor takes an honorable second place after the Sofia. By the way, Plovdiv itself is a city with a population that is second only to the capital.

The remaining two international airports are Gorno-Oryahovitsa and Kalvacha. The first one is remarkable for being located at approximately the same distance from Sofia, Varna, Burgas and Plovdiv, as well as in the immediate vicinity of the old Bulgarian capital - Veliko Tarnovo. "Kalvacha" is known for its proximity to the top Shipka.
