What is karma with religious and esoteric views?

Judging by how many spiritual teachings and religions one can find the concept of karma, one can suspect that this is not an invention, as many in our pragmatic world today tend to believe. Mankind has long started to try to understand the laws of nature, to find the meaning of existence and to determine the peculiarity of its psychic organization. Is it not strange that these searches led him to the notion of "karma"?

Of course, we can not affirmatively say that it exists - there is no evidence. But there are no refutations, and the experience of life suggests that everything is interconnected: one bad act leads to other similar, and a similar situation develops with good deeds. Roughly speaking, this is a simple example of a karmic chain, only in some religious teachings karma is called retribution and its essence is somewhat changed: here good or evil returns to man not for objective reasons, but because it is punished by the Higher Forces.

What is karma in Christianity ?

Opening the Bible, we do not meet the word "karma" there, but we find a somewhat similar word for "retribution." Here we are talking about the fact that in the Christian religion for wrong deeds - "sins" that lead to the destruction of the environment or the person himself, a person is punished by God, sending him severe trials that make him suffer and think about his behavior, and with the help of This, ostensibly, mistakes are redeemed. Here, as a karma, if we imagine a simplified model, "work on mistakes" stands out. This is the chance of a Christian sinner to atone for his guilt and receive forgiveness before God.

But this is a religious view. If we objectively try to look at the situation, it becomes clear that thoughts and their consequences - actions that acquire a destructive nature - really do damage to their owner: figuratively speaking, if they destroy their dwelling, then there will be only ruins left of it, though there is karma, At least not. And since all the elements of the world are interrelated, it turns out that if to harm someone / something from the environment, it will affect the pest.

What is karma in Buddhism

Buddhism became the popularizer of this concept. The laws of karma are one of the main concepts in the Buddhist religion. Here there is an idea that there is a universal law, according to which the actions of a person determine his fate. This karmic law goes beyond the one life incarnation and the sequence of them (samsara) is determined by karma - the actions of man. When a person can go beyond samsara, he will attain moksha (he will be free).

Thus, we can understand that in Buddhism, with the help of the concept under consideration, a person is held responsible for his actions.

What is karma in esotericism and astrology?

According to esoteric general concepts, karma is stronger than man's desires and she can not get out of it. In this you can see kinship in the notions of karma and destiny, rock.

Also, one can distinguish another area related to esotericism and astronomy - karmic astrology, which studies the issues of regeneration and the role of fate in life.

Here it is assumed that each person is born for certain reasons (not only physiological) and his real place was determined by life in the previous incarnation. Also great importance is given to the question of what a person should do in this life, following the path he will be able to solve his karmic problems. Karma is determined by the position of planets and fictitious points in a person's natal chart , and, based on this information, practical conclusions are drawn, what exactly one needs to do to "rightly" live life.

How to know your karma

This can be done with the help of astrology or logical reflection. In astrology, the analysis of two points in the horoscope is used to determine karma: the northern and southern nodes, where the first shows what needs to be done, and the second - from which to refuse.

But you can understand your karma without astrology either: just do more good things without expecting anything in return, and with dignity and humility endure all difficulties, perceiving them as lessons of life that are needed to become stronger and wiser.

In general, over the question of what karma is, representatives of different eras for a long time speculated, which gave rise to many conjectures and different ideas about it. Nevertheless, only one thing is known: our future is determined by the present, and what we are doing today will bear fruit tomorrow.
