To date, the freight industry is very developed. Every day around the world thousands of trucks drive trailers, cisterns, bodies and so on. However, there is a type of trailer that you should talk about separately, because it is very different from the rest - both in appearance and in the way you use it. And he called the trawl. This is the kind of trailer that allows you to transport heavy equipment.

What is a trawl?

Many people are not very familiar with the terminology of cargo transportation, so for them everything that trucks are driven is trailers. In fact, this is the correct answer, but only not quite accurate, because trailers are the most diverse. And the trawl is one of them, it is a sort of low platform, which can easily get into heavy equipment. Trawls are used to transport equipment from one point to another, since the independent speed of such units is usually extremely small, and they are not designed to travel on ordinary city roads. That's why there are trawls - with their help, the technician can be in the right place much faster without damaging the road surface, because we are talking about multi-tonnage machines and sometimes even whole tanks. Tral is an excellent device for transporting goods, but it should be noted that there are a lot of its species. Therefore, there are even several classification systems, each of which determines various parameters for determining.

By carrying capacity

The first and most common classification of trawls is for carrying capacity, that is, for the quantity of cargo that this trailer can transport. There are four types of trailers, and the first of them is light trawl. This is such a trawl, where you can place no more than 25 tons of cargo. Then follows the average, the carrying capacity of which rises already up to 45 tons. Well, the classic trio is completed by a heavy trawl that can accommodate a cargo of up to 110 tons. But what about the fourth type of trawls, which was mentioned earlier? This type includes special superheavy modules. They can accommodate a cargo weighing more than 110 tons, while they are used to transport special indivisible goods. Such may include, for example, space rockets, whole ships or even buildings. In this case, the low-frame trawl can also be called a platform, it is usually much larger than conventional trailers in the area, extremely bulky, but incredibly effective.

By loading height

A low-beam trawl is a phrase that people can hear quite often, even if they are not involved in the activities of traffic. The fact is that trawls can also be classified according to the loading height, that is, according to the distance from the ground the site itself is on which the cargo will be transported. There are two main types - high-frame and low-frame. In the first case, the height of the loading platform above the ground is approximately one meter, and in the second - from 85 to 95 centimeters. The difference is not too high, but in some cases it can play a very important role. But it is also worth noting specialized trawls with a lower platform - in this case its height is not more than 70 centimeters, and sometimes it can be lowered to 40 cm. Traw is a multi-purpose trailer, so sometimes such low platforms for the delivery of special cargoes are needed.

By type of suspension

One of the most interesting ways is one that classifies trawls by the type of suspension used in the trailer. One of the most popular is the spring, which is used both on low-frame and high-trawl trawls. However, please note that the trawl is a trailer that has a very large number of configurations, so do not think that the type of suspension will be the only one. There is, for example, a pneumatic suspension that is used on those trawls that have a very low platform height to increase cargo safety. There is also a hydraulic suspension, which is used extremely rarely, but sometimes it can still be found on the heaviest trawls that carry loads of over a hundred tons. Well, do not forget about the balancer suspension, which is used on high-load platforms and does not have any springs. The choice of the suspension most often does not depend on what the trawl is - a semi-trailer or a full-fledged trailer.

By number of axes

It is also worth paying attention to the classification by the number of axles in the trailer. Here a lot depends on the height of the platform itself, since two or three axes are most often used on high platforms, sometimes you can see even four. But the lower the platform, the greater the number of axles - on particularly understated trawls you can meet even seven or eight pieces. But you can be sure that you will never meet one axis, as this would violate the balance, which is very important for the trawl.

Shared trawl

It is worth noting the trawl, the characteristics of which are very different from the majority. The fact is that almost all trawls do not uncouple from the truck, which carries them - the vehicles arrive at the rear of the platform. But there are also shared trawls, which are disconnected from the truck, and the technics come on the platform from the front, after which the platform is again attached to the truck, and transportation begins. As you can see, there are a lot of trawls, and all of them are very different among themselves, performing various important tasks that are set before them.
