The "telnet" command as a means of remote communication

With the advent of computers and the network, there have also appeared corresponding programs intended for remote control of the system and for data transmission at a distance. First of all, such software is embedded inside the operating system in a standard form, which greatly alleviates the problem - there will be no need to search for software for remote management. In order to connect to a particular computer from a distance, you can use a regular Windows console terminal, called the command line or, in a different way, cmd. In order to connect to a particular computer on the network remotely, it is only worth taking advantage of the full command line advantage . For remote control of the system, there is a command "telnet". This command will ensure not only the extraction of information, but also the control of all actions taking place in this system.

The command "telnet" is present on all versions of Windows. But not on all versions of Windows this command is configured in the right way. For example, to use "telnet" on Windows 7, you need to make a number of simple settings for connecting this module.

All that is required for the "telnet" command to be available is the presence of the network, as well as the availability of the system user membership in the Administrators group. All the settings are made through the menu items "services.msc". This service Can be started through the search. When you run it, click "telnet" with the right mouse button and then select the properties. In properties, you can conduct a wide variety of settings for this connection, as well as change the type of launch of this service. "Telnet" for windows 7 contains three options for starting: manual mode, automatic mode and shutdown mode.

If you access remote control using the input line, the command "telnet" has a number of additional commands, through which the user determines to which computer on the network will be connected through which port, and also the user can prescribe the full path to any File or view the entire directory using the usual command.

In order to take advantage of all the promising "telnet" conditions before connecting to the remote computer itself, it is worthwhile to make sure the Firewall settings are correct, since any incorrectness in terms of network protocol settings can lead to a lot of other consequences. Incorrect settings, in turn, will not allow you to make a network connection.

Another reason why the connection may not take place is the error. They can be issued in connection with any failure in the system or with incorrect settings. The reason for the absence of a connection can be determined by the error code, since each of the errors produced will contain its own number, which in turn will help to identify the fault and eliminate it. If this server is intended for permanent use, it is better to configure it to start automatically every time the computer is started. Similarly, you can configure the server to start manually.
