The story "Pichugin Bridge": a summary

"Pichugin Bridge" is a little moralizing story. The protagonist of the work is a quiet and silent boy. The subject of the article is a short summary of the story "Pichugin Bridge".

Author

Evgeni Permyak is a Soviet writer whose work was influenced by Bazhov's stories. In the postwar years, he often turned to children's literature. The heroes of his works are the right Soviet children and teenagers.

In the works of Permian there are instructive motives. However, the creator of the story "Pichugin Bridge" is known not only for bright and kind stories, aimed at young readers. Evgeni Permyak is one of the so-called witnesses in the case of Ivan Pribludny. Based on his testimony in 1937, the poet (one of Yesenin's friends) was shot.

So, what is the story about "Pichugin Bridge"?

Summary

The protagonist is Sema Pichugin. He is a modest boy, short-tempered. The story begins with a description of the conversation between Sema's comrades. On the way to school guys dream of a feat. One dreams of a fire, because during such an event it is possible to save a child and become famous. The dreams of another boy are more simple: to catch a pike. Sema, it would seem, does not dream about anything. But a dangerous river, covered with thin ice, does not give him rest.

Last year, on the way to school, one of the boys living next door to Semoe nearly drowned. The fact is that the path through the river is the shortest. Parents strictly forbid children to walk this dangerous road. But the guys often violate this prohibition.

Vetla

Without thinking twice, Sema leaves for the river, capturing his father's ax. A good bridge can come out of the old willows. Pichugin starts to cut a tree. Work is not easy. Vetla with a thick trunk is not easy to cut. On the first day, Seme can not cope with the task, which he himself set himself. But the boy does not give up.

The hero of Permyak's story goes to the river the next day. In the morning he assiduously beats an ax in a tree, and finally it falls.

Bridge

On the collapsed willow, it was difficult to move. But the zeal and perseverance of the village hero had no boundaries. The boy cleared the trunk of the branches. And when, even after these actions, it was not easy to cross the semin bridge, he decided to attach small handrails. But here the boy alone could not cope. He was helped by the grandfather.

A good bridge turned out. And the guys and other villagers from now on went only this way. And when the ignorant traveler went along the old and long way, he was certainly advised to go through the "Pichugin Bridge". It so happened that they nicknamed him after Semy.

Years have passed. In place of the old self-made bridge, a new one was built, of good logs. However, like the previous one, it was called the "Pichugin Bridge". And even when a road was built across the river, Sema's feat was not forgotten. Residents of the surrounding villages continued to call a large cast-iron bridge with real handrails in honor of the boy, who many years ago chopped down an old willow, so that his fellow villagers could easily cross the river.

The story of Yevgeny Permyak praises modesty, the desire to do good works not for the sake of glory, but for the sake of the good of the cause.
