The story "Call and Come": a short summary

Anatoly Aleksin (Goberman) has not only an impressive "track record": Secretary of the Board of the Writers' Union, a corresponding member of the Pedagogical Academy of Sciences, many awards and prizes. A characteristic feature of him, as a writer, is his subtle understanding of the child's world. And he created, since 1967, collections of stories, novels for children and adolescents. Characteristic artistic style of the author, decorated with accurate phrases, delicate humor is familiar to many generations of our compatriots.

If you are not familiar with the stories of this author - you are lucky! After all, you still have everything ahead. The writer is wonderful, irony is incomparable. We are glad to present you his story "Call and Come". His plot is quite "chambered" - the life of one ordinary urban family: a sixth grade boy, a father, a mother, a grandmother. Each image is characteristic. The narration is "from the first person" - from the mouth of the child. He studies at the same school for gifted children, where his parents previously studied. The intrigue of the plot is a gradual, step-by-step formation of the image of the father, an extremely modest, subtle, kind person. Dad works as a surgeon.

The image of my grandmother is static, although she repeatedly appears in the plot. She is a caring hostess, "homework" is on her, but her spiritual world is regrettable, her tactless comparisons of her son-in-law and grandson with their peers who have reached certain successes are endless. Satirically it depicts Alexin. "Call and come" can also be interpreted as the author's vision of the theme "fathers and children." At first, it seems to the child, from the words of the grandmother, that his father is really a "gray mouse". The boy sincerely loves his father. Therefore jealously refers to the words of my grandmother about my classmate Sergei Potapov, a musician who performs at the All-Russian competition. He is embarrassed that the posters of this Potapov, as luck would have it, are pasted at the tram stops, as well as other public places where the mother passes. Grandmother "adds fuel to the fire," constantly insisting that "Serezha has stepped far."

In the impressionable boy, the prospect of a "joint prom", where parents are invited, causes horror. After all, there will be Sergei Potapov himself! Of course, Dad's opponent will play. The pope will be morally destroyed altogether. A swarm of children's disturbing thoughts, a real immersion in the psychology of the child demonstrates "Call and Come." The summary of the story testifies that the boy even tries to hide invitations.

Further on the story follows a comic story about the titanic efforts of a sixth grader to reconcile scorned parents to the state of "not speaking among themselves." The komizm of the situation is intensified by anonymously given by each other's attention, using the child as an intermediary. ("Bring your father a newspaper," "Wish my mother a good morning.") Logically judging, the boy is developing a whole strategy that takes into account two concepts: "good" and "in a bad way." Realizing the first option, the schoolboy cleans up the apartment (for the mother), does morning exercises (for the pope). However, the result does not satisfy him: the praise of my mother, and also the praise of the pope. They still do not talk among themselves. Then option "B" is used. The guy goes to his friend - Zhenya, worthy of bearing the household name "Tomb", received for the ability to keep secrets. Funny humor simply oozes from every Alexin line "Call and Come." The brief content, in a childlike manner, dedicates us in detail to the plan of the tomboy. Parents initially know that the son went to Zhenya, but after a certain time he begins to ring every five minutes with one single question: "Where is he?" After the "tenth" call, the main character makes sure Zhenya: "Does the voice of my mother tremble? ". After receiving an affirmative answer, he decides: "It's time!" Then he returns home. Pleased parents kiss him first, and then finally reconcile themselves.

But this is only an episode of "Call and Come." The summary of the story has a central idea - the Alexinsky image of the image of the father. He, the surgeon, is often phoned home by colleagues, patients. He knows by name not only his "heavy" patients, but also their relatives. It's really a man with a big heart. Judge for yourself how warm the surgeon tells his son about the relatives of his patients: "They are often even heavier than the sick, because they" take charge "of everything, and they do not provide anesthesia." The pope who came to the examination for a distant relative, Ignatius, does not hesitate to provide, despite grumbling grandmother, the lodging for the night.

The real insight of the son regarding the father's personality comes when he gets sick with the flu. The home phone turns out to be "under pressure" of dozens of phone calls from imploring customers, as well as consulting colleagues. Papa does not deny anyone. However, the son "accidentally" hands the receiver to his mother on those calls, when the relatives of the patients beg, that "it was the father" who made the operation, "without backups."

"Not only are the efforts of surgeons", - convinces us "Call and come". The summary shows us the father in difficult circumstances. It would seem that the operation was successful, but from the "small clot of blood" - a thrombus - the patient is dying, a good man of 57 years, Egorov Ivan Pavlovich. The son describes the state of his father for several days in one word - "no." And when he goes to personally inform the relatives of the deceased, he takes his father's hand. They go together. Very touchingly written.

The last scene of the story is a united evening of graduates. Mom, busy with some business, did not go there. The boy, on the contrary, went with his father. What the child saw shocked him. His dad was the most respected guest, everyone approached him, he was elected to the presidium. A hockey player, in the past - operated on - thanks him and publicly calls him a wonderful person. Even when evening ends, fathers do not let go: someone needs a consultation.

The boy is held by a hockey player. On the way the athlete notices: "You look like your father!" This is the most pleasant thing that only a child would like to hear.

Not so long ago Aleksin Anatoly Georgievich, already deeply elderly person (he now turned 89 years old), left for Israel. The reason is trivial: the medicine of this country is still a higher level. However, the remarkable creativity of the writer belongs to us, the readers. Therefore, of course, I would like to wish Anatoly Georgievich health and blessed days.
