The "Start" button is the main element of the Windows operating system interface

Starting with the Windows 95 operating systems , the "Start" button has become one of the main elements of the program interface. With its help, you can easily and easily access any computer resources. This innovation favorably distinguished it against the background of previously existing software products of this class. This trend continued until the penultimate operating system, which is called Windows 7.

But a completely different situation with the OS Win 8. The "Start" button in its interface is not provided. This innovation greatly complicated the process of working in this environment. The problem is serious: because of the complicated organization of the interface, performance is seriously lost. The solution, in principle, today is. With the help of additional mini-programs in Win 8, you can return it. But this is not a good decision, and it is necessary to pay extra for it. As a result, on a PC running this OS you have to work without it. Hearing multiple indignant cries of users, the US software giant has revised its development plans, and the "Start" button will necessarily appear in Windows 8.1, the release of which is expected during 2013.

The second major milestone in the development of this component was the operating system with the name XP, in which it became possible to change the appearance of the button. Many with great pleasure have taken advantage of this innovation. A similar possibility is also provided in the following products of this developer, which, respectively, were called Vista and 7. By the way, they initially changed the form, it is not rectangular in them, but round in the basic configuration.

Now consider the composition of the menu items that the "Start" button opens, in the last OS to date - Windows 7. The menu consists of 2 columns, as in XP and Vista. On the left of the user are the programs. On the right at the top is access to files and documents. From the bottom there is also a control panel and other settings. The program menu is divided into 2 parts. Bottom line in one line is a drop-down list of all programs installed on the PC. To open it, just click on it with the left mouse button. There are 10 most frequently used programs on the top, the "Start" button provides access to them first. On the top left are the menu items for access to documents, pictures, music, games, in the same place "My Computer". Under it immediately are:

  • Control panel (provides access to configuration and configuration of the software product);
  • Printers and devices (setting up hardware for PCs and printers);
  • The default program selection item;
  • Support and assistance.

In the bottom line are located: on the left - the search line, to the right - the shutdown button. Near it there is a triangle, behind which are hidden reset buttons, user changes and other elements. In the process of turning on the PC resources are heavily loaded, and it is possible that the "Start" button does not work. There is nothing terrible in this, and you need to wait for the end of the inclusion.

From the above, the conclusion suggests: it is impossible to work on a modern computer without this element of the system interface. Or, at least, this process will become much more complicated.
