The relics of the Matrona of Moscow. Where are the relics of Matrona Moskovskaya in Moscow?

The relics of the Matrona of Moscow, like the found remains of other holy Christianity, are a particularly revered object. At the Seventh Ecumenical Council, held in 787, the dogma was fixed, according to which the relics of the saints must be placed in the altars of the churches and especially revered. The Church believes that in the relics of the saints the Holy Spirit dwells, as in the temples.

Finding the relics

The relics of the Matrona of Moscow were found in 1998 on 8 March at exactly 24:00. Their removal took place in a solemn atmosphere. With the blessing of the patriarch (headed by MP Alexis II) in Moscow, where, since 1952, the grave of the old Matrona (Danilovsky cemetery), the representatives of the higher clergy of the Moscow Patriarchate, honest remains, or relics of the saint, were transferred from the cemetery to the Danilov Monastery. The people gathered a lot, according to the majority, air was poured goodness. The relics of the Matrona of Moscow were in the coffin, which was installed in a church erected in the name of the righteous Simeon, who was on the pillar in prayers and fasting for 37 years (that's why he is called Simeon Stylites). The temple where the relics were placed, the gateway.

A simple peasant woman who became a saint

Who is she, the holy old man? In a simple peasant family (in the very middle-aged Nikonovs, his father's name was Dmitry, his mother was Natalia), who lived in the Tula province, in the village of Serbino, in the Epiphany district, in 1881 a fourth child was born, a blind girl. The saint's life mentions that the parents wanted to be away from her and leave in the orphanage. But the mother in her dream saw a large white bird without eyes, not blind, namely, without eyes, sitting on her breast. Considering the dream prophetic, the parents took the child home. It is known that even in childhood, Nikonova Matrona had the gift of healing and prediction.

Signs of holiness and originality

About her God's choice, Father Vasily, the baptized girl, was the first to tell - when the baby was lowered into the font, a fragrant pillar rose above it. She also had a divine sign on her body - she had a small cross on her chest (so the little Matrona refused to wear a cross, explaining that she already has her own), which was found during exhumation. His girl received the name in honor of the Matrona of Constantinople, an ascetic who lived in the 5th century. There were other signs - the girl did not take breasts on fasting days - Wednesday and Friday, she was always asleep. Spiritual vision, which Matrona was awarded in excess, compensated her for her physical handicap - she was not deprived of sight in the usual sense of the word, Matrona did not have eyes at all, her eyelids were tightly joined. The whole district soon learned about the gift of divination and healing, and crowds of people began to arrive at the house where the young saint lived.

The dispossessed and holy

At the age of 14, she met with the righteous John of Kronstadt. He in the presence of a large number of people very highly and figuratively responded to the divine gift and the future role of the girl in Orthodoxy. The seven pillars are the seven Ecumenical Councils. The righteous figuratively called the Matron the eighth pillar. At the age of seventeen, Matrona's legs broke off. This event was predicted by herself. The revolution, which deprived the Matron of the shelter, was predicted by the old lady long before long. Wandering about other people's houses and apartments (and wanderings lasted 50 years), Matrona never complained, and the glory of her holy deeds all grew and grew. There is a myth about visiting St. Stalin, and even there is an icon depicting this scene. But this is only a beautiful legend, which speaks of the faith of the people in the power of the saint.

Death of an old man

Matron predicted his death, too, like a pilgrimage to the temples, where the relics of the Matrona of Moscow will be stored, that is, she predicted the daily long-term turns to the altars where her remains will rest.

And it happened. Matron's elder is the most revered saint in Moscow. Crowds of people began to go to her grave at the Danilov cemetery, which became a place of unofficial pilgrimage. It became necessary to canonize the blessed old Matrona and find her relics. The communion itself took place on May 2, 1999 in the Pokrovsky Stauropegial Monastery (a monastery that submits directly to the patriarch, bypassing the power of the dioceses) the nunnery.

The first canonization

The act of canonization was read by the head of the Moscow Patriarchate (Alexy II). In this monastery, the most visited monastery of the capital, and there is a cancer in which the relics of Matrona of Moscow are enclosed. In Moscow there are several other places in which there are fragments of holy honest remains of the blessed Matrona Nikonova. People who come here with the most vital questions and requests, are ready to defend the long lines in winter and summer, in heat and cold - so great is the belief in the miraculous power of a local saint. The relics of the Moscow Matron in Moscow, or rather their particles, are still in the Church of the Resurrection of Christ. Here, next to the Matrona icon, lies a particle of her relics.

Other Moscow temples of the repose of the relics of the saint

The relics of the blessed Matrona of Moscow and the church of the holy princess Euphrosyne of Moscow, located at the address: Nakhimovskiy avenue, vlad. 6.

In the two above listed temples, along with the parts of the relics of Matrona, there are remains of other great Christian saints - Alexander Nevsky, the martyr Varvara, Bishop of Ippony, St. Tikhon of Moscow and some others. In Shubino, in the church of the saints, which in Russian church books are known as miracle-working brothers and healers (Kosm and Damian brothers), who lived in the 3rd-4th centuries, there is an icon and relics of Matrona Moskovskaya. Moscow has one more place, where exactly the same icon is kept with a particle of honest remains of Matrona - it is a temple in Philippovskiy lane (Resurrection of the Speaker). It is so called because there is a well-known church holiday, the Resurrection of the Word (from the word "to be heard" - "to be known"), which is dedicated to the church built on Golgotha by Saint Constantine. And in Moscow there is one place where the relics of the Matrona of Moscow rest in a worthy environment - next to the remains of the Great Martyr George the Victorious and the holy martyr Panteleimon. This is the Compound of the Solovetsky Monastery (since 1992), where the Church of the Great Martyr George the Victorious is located in Endov, which is an architectural monument of the XVII century and is executed in the style of Moscow ornament that was characterized by intricate forms and an abundance of decor. In addition, the remains of the old man are in the church of St. Gregory of Neocaesaria in Derbitsy, located at: Moscow, Bolshaya Polyanka, 29a. In Alekseevskaya Novaya Sloboda (along Solzhenitsyn Street, house 15), in the church of St. Martin the Confessor, a special shrine is kept - the funerary shirt of the most sacred. The image, written with the blessing of Matrona herself, and the icon of the Mother of God "The Execution of the Lost" are in the Pokrovsky Monastery.

Special veneration and nationwide love

In Russia, there are more than 30 temples of St. Matrona, its power is delivered to many cities in Russia - Krasnoyarsk and Lipetsk, Vologda, Novokuznetsk and Perm. In 2004, the Holy Synod resolved the question of the general church glorification of the holy blessed Matrona of Moscow. Church-wide canonization took place in October of the same year. In 1999, she was canonized as a local Moscow saint. Today Matron Moscow, perhaps, is the most beloved of all the saints of the 20th century. In the people it is called Matronushka, she is incredibly loved by Muscovites, and this love and faith in the sacred power of the old man can be compared only with the love of the inhabitants of the northern capital to Xenia of Petersburg, which they also call Xenyushka. To the relics of the Matrona of Moscow, not only the residents of the megalopolis are hurrying, hundreds of cases are known, when, with only two hours left between trains, people rushed to Matronushka for help, which came immediately and was already waiting for them upon their return home. Memorial day of the blessed Matrona in the church calendar - May 2.
