The "propofol" agent describes the instructions for use as a drug specially designed for non-anional anesthesia. The "Propofol" preparation is available (the instruction for use is necessarily included) in the form of an emulsion for infusions containing as a main component a substance such as propofol. Auxiliary elements are glycerin, soybean oil, sodium hydroxide, egg lecithin and purified water.

Experts recommend the use of narcosis "Propofol" mainly as an effective short-term anesthesia. In addition, this drug is excellent for maintaining a sedative effect in those patients who are in intensive care units and connected to the apparatus of artificial ventilation. To prescribe the "Propofol" preparation the instruction for use also advises for the organization of the introductory and maintenance of general anesthesia. Among other things, this drug is well suited for sedation with the preservation of the patient in consciousness. The latter is especially important during the carrying out of a variety of diagnostic and surgical procedures.

To use this tool, the manufacturer company categorically prohibits if the patient has an allergic reaction to propofol or an individual intolerance to any other substances presented in the composition.

In addition, this drug should not be used to provide supportive anesthesia and induction anesthesia in children under three years of age. Women who carry a child are also prohibited from prescribing the drug "Propofol". The reviews also testify to its undesirable use during the lactation period. Strictly contraindicated drug "Propofol" and for sedation to children and adolescents, who suffer from epiglottitis or croup and undergo appropriate intensive therapy.
