The Peschan Icon of the Mother of God in what helps and when to pray?

The Peschan Icon of the Mother of God is a miracle-working list from the famous Kazan image of the Virgin Mary with the Child. The history of its appearance is unusual and mysterious.

The source of grace cast into the dust

By the will of God this image was found by the saint of Belgorod, Iosaaf. Shortly before he completed his earthly journey, he heard in the dream the very Mother of God and saw himself in the porch of one of the temples. On a pile of unnecessary things and garbage in front of him lay the image of the Queen of Heaven, shining in all its glory. The Mother of God said that this icon was given to Russia as the grace of the Lord, but people turned it into rubbish.

After seeing the bishop (according to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit) he went to the Resurrection Church, where, to his surprise, he found an image in the Resurrection Church in the town of Izyum (Ukraine). The Kazan icon was then used as a partition, behind which the coal for censers was stored. Iosaaf Belgorodsky in tears fell before the image and prayed to the Blessed Virgin to forgive people for negligence. After that, he went to the abbot of the church and openly reproached him for such a blasphemy towards the true shrine. At the behest of Bishop Josef of Belgorod, the icon was seized from the vestibule, and placed in a beautiful salary. And determined its place in the temple itself. Iosaaf Bogorodsky lived for a few more days at the church, praying in the morning and in the evening before the newfound image and asking God's Mother for forgiveness for the people being so blasphemously treated with the shrine.

Miracles, and only

After the mysterious acquisition of the icon, the temple along with the image was transferred to another area - Peski. Here, the first miracle of the Queen of Heaven was revealed through a newfound image.

At the beginning of the nineteenth century, in Izume lived a man named Stefan, whose children were dying. After his last son fell into illness, he together with his wife decided to lead his child to the temple on Peski to the miraculous icon. On the way to church, the boy died. A heartbroken mother persuaded her husband to return home, but he firmly insisted on serving a moleben before the image. Despite the death of the child, somewhere inside Stefan there was a hope for God's help and for an unprecedented miracle. Entering the temple, he, along with his wife, approached the Peschan Icon and, without telling the priest about the deceased boy, was asked to serve a moleben. Standing on their knees and crying silently, they prayed for the resurrection of their only son. Three times uttering the words of the prayer "Oh, sung by Mother", parents heard a terrible scream. That was their son, who resurrected by prayer. Stephen and his wife lost their senses. After they came to their senses, the parents were able to tell the priest about what a great miracle had happened before this way. The children came to life and the whole family went home. The boy lived in health until old age. Such a great miracle was performed by the Peschan Icon of the Mother of God.

People, having learned about the appearance of this image of the Virgin, wanted to pray before him. The people in those days were so many that many were waiting for their turn not only in the temple, but also in the surrounding territory.

Heavenly Karaoke

The rector of the church did not like the fact that the church was constantly overcrowded. Therefore, he decided to prohibit prayers before the image, for which he was punished by the heavens. He contracted a painful illness, writhing with convulsions. Soon the rector realized that he did not have the right to forbid people to turn to the miraculous image, and therefore again allowed prayer services. After this, the sick priest was brought to the icon to ask for healing from the Queen of Heaven. By the grace of God, in a few days he conquered his illness.

The Peschan Icon of the Mother of God created unprecedented miracles after the religious procession around the church. So it was in the middle of the 19th century, when after such a service the neighborhoods of the city were miraculously saved from the epidemic of cholera and other misfortunes. But the miracles of the icon of the Mother of God did not end there. Many continued to receive healing and comfort in the image of the Blessed Virgin.

Where is the list now?

Until the beginning of the 20th century, the Peschan miracle-working icon of the Mother of God resided in the Resurrection Church. During the First World War, the image was sent abroad. At the moment, the location of the miraculous icon is unknown.

Miracle-working lists

Despite the fact that the original icon was lost, in different parts of Russia it kept the lists made from the image. One of them is in the Leningrad hospital, in the chapel, built in honor of Saint Iosaaf. Every week here they hold services and read the Akathist to the Peschan Icon of the Mother of God.

The happy owner of this image is Tatyana Dubinina. The icon, which she owns, flew all 28 dioceses of Russia. They themselves admit that the Peschana Icon of the Mother of God (the Crucifixion) has such grace and miraculous power that she really wanted to share it with other people.

Imprinted in the centuries

The Peschan (Kazan) icon of the Mother of God played a great role in the life of our country during the First World War. So, in 1915, one of the deeply religious Russian people in a dream was the saint Josiah Bogorodsky. He warned that only the Virgin can save Russia. Having learned about the prophetic vision, ordinary people decided to make a procession with the Peschana icon, passing through all the front lines. While the icon was in Mogilev, the Russian land did not know a single defeat. Unfortunately, the procession did not take place, as the ruling elite did not attach much importance to this.

It was only in 1999 that they were able to perform the great procession in Russia. On the airplane assigned for service, the images of the Mother of God, including Peschanskaya, were immersed. The vessel flew all the borders of Russia within 2 days. Laymen and clergymen at this time constantly read the akathist to the Queen of Heaven, closing the great service by prayer to the Peschan image.

What does the Peschana icon look like?

This image of the Mother of God is written as Hodegetria, which in Greek means "Guide". The description of the icon of the Mother of God is similar to the image of Kazan (a figure in the figure, the Baby sits on his left hand). The only difference is that Jesus Christ holds the book with his left hand on the Peschana icon , and the Mother of God holds out his hand to him.

What are they praying for before the image?

It is believed that the Peschana Icon of the Mother of God heals from the ailments of the soul and body. Also, those who experience any needs in everyday affairs can appeal to the image. The Kazan (Peschana) icon of the Mother of God keeps the Russian state from enemies (like the image of Vladimir). July 21 is the Day of Remembrance of this icon. Believers who received healing from her and who hope for Her help should read the prayer before the Peschansky image.

For Thy Holy Name

The temple of the icon of the Peschana Mother of God in Moscow would be opened only recently - in 2001. This event is preceded by small miracles. They testify that it was acceptable for Our Lord to erect this temple. After all, back in the early 1990s, the territory where the Orthodox complex was located was a ruined kindergarten. Many lands were then sold to worldly institutions - shops and restaurants. And only the territory in Izmaylovo did not sell. When they decided to organize the church of the icon of the Mother of God (Peschanskaya), the capital gave this land for free. Lay people helped to raise money for the arrangement of the church and church utensils. It is truly a miracle that it was built literally in 20 days, having reached the Easter holiday. Thanks to God's help and the efforts of people, the clergy together with the parishioners already served the All-night Vigil before the Great Resurrection. At the moment, this church of the icon of the Mother of God of Peschana is one of the few built in honor of this image.

Great shrines of Russia

4 icons of the Mother of God (Vladimirskaya, Kazan, Iverskaya and Smolensk) are the most revered among all other images, as they played a great role in the formation of our state and the life of the Russian people. That is why in the dream of Iosaaf the Queen of Heaven said that through the Kazan image She bears people grace and prosperity.

The history of the icon of the Mother of God of Kazan

For many Russian people on November 4 - not only the holiday of People's Unity. For an Orthodox person this is primarily the Day of the Kazan Virgin Mary. The description of the icon of the Mother of God, as it was said before, is very similar to the Peschansky image, which is its list.

The discovery of this icon is a true miracle. One day the Blessed Virgin appeared in a dream to Matrona, the daughter of an archer who served in the time of John the Terrible. The Queen of Heaven commanded her to find her holy image in ashes. Earlier on this site was the Kazan Kremlin, which burned to the ground. Sagittarius set out to put the house on the ashes and, not believing the words of his child, began to build. Three times the Mother of God visited the Matron in a dream, the last time having warned that if she did not go looking for an image, she would perish. Only the mother of the girl believed her child's words and, taking with her several assistants, went with her daughter in search. The girl indicated the place she had seen in her dream. After digging out a little, she found a cloth sleeve in which the image was hidden. The icon had such a clean face, as if it had been written quite recently. In honor of such a great find, the icon of the Mother of God was celebrated, celebrated on July 21 in a new style.

And in place of the phenomenon of the image, it was decided to build a nunnery, the first novices of which were Matrona and her mother.

The first miracles of the icon were immediately witnessed after the acquisition of the image. For example, during the transfer of the icon, one old man was able to see clearly, who was blind for several years, and in the temple he cured a young man who also did not see white light.

Why is the church celebrated on November 4 as an Orthodox holiday?

The Kazan image always accompanied the Russian people in the decisive battles with the enemy. November 4 is the feast of the icon of the Mother of God , called Kazan. On this day, a great event happened: one bishop, captured by the Poles and imprisoned in the Kremlin, was given a vision from the Reverend Sergius of Radonezh. He assured the clergyman that the Queen of Heaven herself is the intercessor of the Russian Land. The bishop was able to secretly transmit this note to the Russian militia. Inspired, they were able to drive the Polish enemy out of China-city. The Kremlin was surrendered without a fight. The liberated priests came out to meet the militia with the image of the Kazan Mother of God, thanks to which the Russian people defeated the treacherous enemy. Since then Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is celebrated twice a year - on July 21 and November 4.

Fate of the image

Most of the shrines of the Russian Land disappeared after the revolutionary years of 1917. Some of them went abroad for the sake of preservation, while others were sold to collectors of Europe for a pittance. The same story occurred with the image of the Kazan Mother of God. She was miraculously transported abroad, where she was presented to the Pope. For a long time the icon was in his residence. And only in the early 20th century the image was able to return back to Russia. It is interesting that the icon came to the homeland in the most difficult period of relations between Russia and Rome. The head of the Catholic Church passed the shrine through his cardinal into the hands of Patriarch Alexy II. Many regard this as a benevolent gesture on the part of the Pope. Although in fact the return of the image is the providence of God. Also, the Catholic Church put forward a hypothesis that the donated icon is only a list from the Kazan image of the Mother of God. To clarify this issue in Rome, a special commission was set up, which was to determine the authenticity of the icon. Specialists confirmed the conjectures of the Pope. It is possible that the Catholics for this very reason gave the image of the Orthodox Church. But this does not detract from the value of the Kazan icon.

The Peschanian image of the Queen of Heaven is a shrine that saved the Russian people as well as other miracle-working lists. That is why in honor of this icon, individual churches and churches are recreated and feast days are celebrated.
