The drug "Sotagexal" is a beta-blocker. The active substance is sotalol. The medication is available in tablet form and in the form of an injection solution. Tablets "Sotageksal" have antiarrhythmic, antianginal and hypotensive activity. The medication promotes sympathetic stimulation in peripheral vessels, a decrease in the activity of the renin-angiotensin system. When taking the drug, the need for oxygen in the myocardium is reduced by reducing the frequency of contractions, sensitivity to sympathetic innervation. On the basis of arterial hypertension, the effect is observed after 2-5 days. Stable action of the drug occurs after one to two months of admission.

Appointment

The Sotagexal medication is recommended for ventricular tachyarrhythmias (induced and spontaneous), extrasystole, supraventricular tachycardia. Indications include a paroxysmal form of atrial fibrillation.

Contraindications

Sotagexal is not prescribed (the instruction for use warns about it) with cardiogenic shock, hypersensitivity, decompensated chronic or acute cardiac insufficiency, sinus bradycardia.
