The longest name on the planet

It is always interesting to learn something unusual, out of the ordinary. These may be unusual places, people, phenomena of nature and progress, but one can not help being surprised at the phenomena of human speech in the great multitude of languages and dialects. And many publications are looking for unusual names, names, nicknames, and the longest name is one of the popular requests on the Internet. So, it will be about this.

If you deploy the world map and find there all known to all the Hawaiian Islands, you can see the beautiful island of Honolulu. It was on this patch of land that a case occurred, the heroine of which is recorded in the book of world records by Arthur Guinness as the person with the longest name in the world.

Prehistory. In the family, a local restaurant owner had a daughter. The girl was growing up, and it was time to get ready for the first class. But when the baby was brought to school, the teacher refused to enter the future student in the magazine. The reason for this was too bulky girl's name, consisting of 102 letters (the longest name simply did not fit into the class magazine)! In native Hawaiian, it looks like this: Napu-Hala-Amo-On-She-Vekhi-Aneka-Vekhi-Ona-Nena-Khiva-Vava-Keho-Kahe-Onka-Hea-Leke-On-Ea-Nei-Nana -Keko-Nia-Oa-Oga-Ica-Van-Wanao. To the unaccustomed Russian ear this name seems strange and incomprehensible, but in the translation it sounds very pleasant: "Beautiful innumerable flowers of mountains and valleys begin to fill Hawaii in length and breadth with its fragrance."

Since ancient times, many nations fought for their independence from others. Some have resigned themselves to their fate and have come under the patronage of stronger rivals. (Louis Bussenard, in his book Captain Sorvey-head, describes the desperate battles of the Boers, a small people in southern Africa, against the great British power.) As a result, the royal army defeated the freedom-loving people, but the perseverance with which it defended its independence is worthy of respect even with Side of Britain.) But there are others who are fighting for their freedom to this day, and pride does not allow them to forget their previous grievances. So, in the north of Britain lives the Welsh people, leading an incessant struggle even under the patronage of the English. It manifests itself in many ways. For example, in 1870 the small Welsh village received a very strange name from the local inhabitants - Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch. It is not by chance that such a "tricky", the Welsh people specifically called it a complex name, so that no Englishman could pronounce it. As with the Hawaiian girl, the translation of this word is much more pleasant than its original and sounds like: "The Church of St. Mary in the thickets of white hazel next to the swift swirl near the church of St. Taisilio and the red cave." And this is not the only case of the pride of local residents.

It is also a problem for many people to pronounce Indian names. The names of various objects and phenomena of this people differ from the others in the presence of "j", "khtr" and many other combinations of letters. So, a resident of India under the name Brahmatra has the longest name on the planet, consisting of 1,478 letters! It includes geographical names, the names of scientists and a whole bunch of everything that does not lend itself to any explanation. And to read it, it will take no less than 15 minutes. But nobody does it, but for those who want to try, I will say right away that it is very difficult to find it. Everyone who tried to do this, concluded: either it is a myth, which is not clear why, or, for unknown reasons, no one has published it anywhere.

But what about Russia? What is the longest Russian name? It turns out that this is one of the most common names - Constantine, although there are some variations. But the Russians call it. Although if you take names that are almost not used, then Appolinariy and Panteleimon will be longer by one letter. Alexander and Efrosinya are leaders in the number of letters among female Russian names.
