The drug "Vancomycin", according to experts, is on a special place among the antibiotic drugs used in medicine. Medication "Vankomycin" has bactericidal activity. The drug has an effect on Gram-positive microorganisms, including staphylococci, producing penicillinase and methicillin-resistant, streptococci resistant to penicillin, clostridia, and corynebacteria. Virtually all gram-negative microbes, viruses, fungi, protozoa exhibit resistance to the "Vancomycin" agent.

The medicine is prescribed for bacterial infections in severe course if they were provoked by microbes that show sensitivity, and if cephalosporins and penicillins are ineffective or intolerant. The drug "Vancomycin" instruction recommends for sepsis, abscess in the lungs, pneumonia. The medicine is also prescribed for endocarditis, meningitis, osteomyelitis, enterocolitis.

In connection with the fact that the severity of negative reactions can increase with simultaneous use of funds for anesthesia, the drug "Vancomycin" is administered before anesthesia.

Contraindications for the use of a drug include hypersensitivity. With special care, you should prescribe a medication during pregnancy. The active ingredient is excreted in breast milk. In this regard, during the period of treatment, breastfeeding should be stopped for a woman.

In patients with uremia, the interval between administration of the remedy should be increased to ten days.

The drug "Vancomycin" in tablets is not available.
