The "Nimesulide" medication instructions for use refer to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs of the sulfonanilide class.

Indications for use are the following diseases: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, arthrosis, myalgia, arthralgia, enthesopathy, bursitis, aldysmenorrhea, fever and others.

In the course of the studies it was found that the Nimesulide preparation (the instructions for use also contains this information) is able to exert an analgesic effect quite quickly - literally within twenty minutes after ingestion, which is why it is so widely used to eliminate acute pain.

The pharmaceutical agent in question is taken orally for one hundred milligrams (one tablet or the like in the form of a suspension) twice a day. It is recommended to take a meal after eating, drink the product with water in sufficient volume. The medication is also used to prevent complications.

The drug "Nimesulide", the instruction for use informs, you should not take more than 400 milligrams a day. This amount is the maximum daily dose. The duration of the course of therapy is determined by the appropriate specialist individually. During the treatment it is necessary to monitor the functioning of the liver and kidneys of the patient.

When using this drug in the form of a gel (1%), it is applied to the affected areas with light massaging movements. To conduct such a procedure should not be more than four times a day. The gel is not used to apply compresses.

The "Nimesulide" medication, the instruction for use contains this information, can cause some side effects. The occurrence of nausea, dizziness, headache, vomiting, gastralgia, heartburn, hematuria, oliguria, exanthema, ulceration of mucous membranes, urticaria and anaphylactic shock have been documented. Also, the Nimesulide preparation (suspension) can cause the following changes in blood characteristics : thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, leukopenia, anemia, an increase in the bleeding period.

Due to external use of the medication, it is possible to develop local irritation, erythema, pruritus, rash, peeling of those areas on which the gel was applied.

In the annotation it is especially noted that the occurrence of any of the above-mentioned side effects is the reason for the immediate cessation of the drug and treatment to the doctor.

Nimesulide (powder) medication, the instruction informs, is not prescribed during pregnancy, to patients under the age of twelve years, in the presence of pathologies of ulcerative nature and bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, aspirin asthma, renal and hepatic insufficiency. The suspension and gel in these cases are also not recommended.

Among the relative contraindications, there are ulcerative changes in the gastrointestinal tract, heart failure, arterial hypertension, the period of breastfeeding, and the presence of individual intolerance to other anti-inflammatory non-steroids.

As mentioned above, Nimesulide is not prescribed during the period of gestation. At this time, the reception of the medication in question is absolutely contraindicated. This fact is explained by the fact that the drug can cause atony of the uterus of the future mother, as well as premature closure of the ductal ductal fetus .

Overdose with this drug is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, lethargy, drowsiness, acute kidney failure, arterial hypertension, anaphylactic shock or coma.

To eliminate symptoms, you should wash the stomach, take activated charcoal or another sorbent.
