The drug 'Amosin', instructions for use

The drug Amosin is an antimicrobial agent with a wide range of action and refers to the pharmaceutical group of semisynthetic antibiotics-penicillins. Amosin is produced in various dosage forms:

- gelatin capsules;

- pills;

Powder for making a suspension.

The effectiveness of the drug is achieved due to its high degree of absorption (93%), as well as the wide distribution of the antibiotic Amosin. Tablets with a drug in a couple of hours reach the highest concentration in the body. Especially high drug concentrations are found in the blood plasma, bronchial secretion and sputum, in the liquid contents of subcutaneous blisters and urine, in the peritoneal and pleural fluid. Amosin is well concentrated in the genital organs of women and lung tissue, in the prostate gland and intestinal mucosa, in the gall bladder and adipose tissue, in the fetal tissues and in the middle ear.

In view of the high concentration of Amosin in many systems of the body, the instruction for use calls many indications for its purpose. These include all bacterial infections caused by drug-susceptible pathogens, among which are:

- infection of the ENT organs (tonsillitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, otitis media);

- infectious diseases of the genitourinary system ;

- infections of the digestive tract (dysentery, cholecystitis, salmonellosis, cholangitis);

- skin infections (impetigo, erysipelas, dermatoses);

- respiratory tract infections (pneumonia and bronchitis);

- endocarditis (used as a preventive agent);

- Lyme disease;

- Leptospirosis, listeriosis.

Despite the beneficial effect of the active substance of the drug "Amosin", the instructions for use warn of the possibility of some side effects during antibiotic treatment. In medical practice, cases of allergic reactions in patients that manifest themselves in the form of urticaria, erythematous eruptions, skin flushing, conjunctivitis, rhinitis are especially frequent in medical practice. The negative effect of the drug "Amosin" can have on the organs of the digestive tract, it usually manifests itself in the form of dysbiosis, diarrhea, vomiting and nausea, glossitis and stomatitis.

The nervous system sometimes also reacts negatively to the treatment with the drug Amosin. Instruction for use warns of the danger of insomnia, excessive excitation and anxiety, depressive conditions, headaches and even epileptic conditions. There are cases of tachycardia, difficulty breathing, in patients with low resistance of the body, there is often the occurrence of superinfections.

By medicine, cases in which the treatment with Amosin is contraindicated are well studied. Antibiotic is not recommended for patients with hypersensitivity to the drug, children under the age of 3 years. With extreme caution, amosin should be taken to patients who have gastrointestinal diseases, allergic reactions, renal and hepatic insufficiency. Before beginning treatment with the drug "Amosin" pregnant women need consultation of the treating doctor.

If diarrhea, vomiting, nausea and, as a result, the water-electrolyte balance were disturbed during treatment, then, most likely, an overdose of the drug occurred. When an antibiotic "Amosin" is overdosed, the instructions for use recommend resorting to gastric lavage, taking activated charcoal and laxatives.

To avoid the negative consequences associated with an overdose of the drug "Amosin", the instruction manual recommends strictly to follow the instructions in the annotation. Adult patients are prescribed a 3-time intake of the drug in an amount not exceeding 1 g, for children under 10 years of age the maximum single dose does not exceed a quarter of a gram. Depending on the severity and form of the disease, the duration of taking Amosin varies from 5 to 12 days.
