The Ark is ... A true story about Noah, or another fairy tale of ancestors?

Noah's Ark - what is this: truth or fiction? The followers of the Bible believe that this story is based on real facts, while their opponents assure: "This is just another fairy tale for the night."

But who is right and who is wrong? Was there really an ark? The definition of truth makes it difficult for the traces of this event to be erased by the sands of time. So all the judgments about the ark are built solely on the thoughts of scholars and Bible experts.

Why did the Lord decide to destroy people?

According to the Bible, the human race originated from the descendants of Cain and Seth. At the same time, the sons and daughters of the first carried a seed of darkness in their soul, because their father was a fratricide. As for the descendants of Seth, they were pious and obediently obeying the orders of God. But over time, even in the best of hearts, sin appears.

And now, the moment has come when all people, except for Noah's family, are mired in the quagmire of chaos and anger, completely forgetting about their Creator. For such inappropriate behavior, the Lord was very angry with them and decided to wipe them off the face of the earth with the help of a flood.

The Ark is the way to save the last righteous family

Noah, or Noah (Torah), was a righteous person, like his family, so God decided to save his faithful servant. For this he ordered him to build an ark. It was a difficult task, besides Noah himself was not a builder, like his sons. But he sincerely believed in God and knew that he would help him.

It's not known how long it took to build the ark, but it ended with success. Then God told Noah that he should take on his "ship" not only his family, but also animals, in order to save them from extinction. And on the day when the building of the ark was over, animals began to come, birds and reptiles to take their place in it.

After the doors of the ark had shut, a rain came from the sky, which poured seven days and seven nights. All living things perished, and only the inhabitants of the ark survived, after which they floated for another forty days on the waves, until the water level fell. In the end, they moored at the foot of Mount Ararat, where Noah offered a sacrifice to God, and he promised in return promised not to destroy people any more.

How do believers view this story?

Many Bible experts say: "The Ark is the truth." It is enough for them that this is said in the Holy Scripture, and therefore, it is impossible to doubt the veracity of history. Based on their belief, all people are descendants of Noah.

But in today's world, scientists are accustomed to questioning the truth of the Bible, so believers are actively looking for more weighty evidence for their theories. The main trump card in their hands are traces of oceanic activity on the mountain peaks. This allows them to assert that the whole world was once completely covered with water, hence, the Flood was.

Otherwise, logical arguments have always been refuted by only one - the belief in God.

The inconsistencies in biblical history

According to the Bible, the size of the ark was 300 (133.5 m) elbows in length, 50 (22.5 m) wide and 30 (13.3 m) in height. Based on these dimensions, we can draw the following conclusion: it is simply impossible to fit all kinds of animals, birds and insects into such an ark.

More importantly, it is very difficult to store water and food for so many passengers, especially given the number of Noah's family members. In addition, the issue of air supply to the interior of the ark, as well as how and where to dispose of waste (and, given the number of animals, many of them, must be solved).

Therefore, many researchers believe that the ark - this is just an embellished story from the past. Although they admit that the flood was, it is also confirmed by archaeological finds in Mesopotamia, but its scales are clearly exaggerated. Most likely, Noah survived in the flood, building a raft or a boat, which became the basis for this story.

Over time, the story was supplemented and slightly embellished. After a thousand years the flood turned into the Universal Flood and the destruction of mankind. But again - this is just a guess. Certainly it is impossible to verify the reliability of this story, as well as completely refute it. Therefore, everyone must determine for themselves what is true in it, and what is fiction.
