Temple in Vladykino - here came kings and patriarchs

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in Vladykino is considered the spiritual center of the large and densely populated Otradniy.

History

Vladykino is one of the oldest villages outside Moscow. All its owners, because of their origin, were deeply religious people. They always showed concern for the temple that was in the village. According to the customs of the time, the church building had to be wooden, and when it was dilapidated, it was replaced by another.

The first owner, and then the village was called Velyaminovo, was Prince Daniel of Moscow. He is known as the son of Alexander Nevsky. But in 1619, the Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich granted the village to Dmitry Pozharsky, and four years later - to Prince Shuisky. It was at the latter and the temple of the Virgin was built in Vladykino, which rose in place of a dilapidated church bearing the name of St. Nicholas the Wonder-worker. Soon the village, which became the patrimonial patrimony of the Moscow region, receives its new name - Vladykino.

A few years later a patriarchal traveling palace was built here, and another temple nearby. Many times Patriarchs came to Vladykino. The most holy Nikon, Joachim, and afterwards Adrian also listened to the Divine Liturgy here. On May 19, 1690, Tsar Peter Alekseevich also came to the village. He also visited the temple in Vladykino. According to the annals, he also attended the Divine Liturgy in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin.

The current view

Many icons, which were worshiped by the parishioners who come to the temple in Vladykino, have survived to the present day. They saw kings and Patriarchs of Moscow. Among the icons are images of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as well as St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the famous Smolensk icon of the Mother of God. Before them, believers are praying and praying for four hundred years.

With the abolition of the patriarchate, the village of Vladykino, by a decree of the Most Holy Synod , was given to Feofan, archbishop of Pskov, in August 1722. He often visited here, for a long time living in his yard, located near the church. In the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, Peter's active assistant and head of the Synod often attended the Divine Liturgy. Presumably, it was at this time that the wooden church building was first moved from the left bank of the river to the right bank, and then back to the place where it still stands.

First stone church

From the stone the temple of Christmas (Vladykino) was built in 1770. The bell tower was erected by Count K. Razumovsky, the owner of a neighboring village called Petrovskoye. Icons in the abode of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos were transferred from the abolished church of the village of Nikolskoye. Count Razumovsky also built a stone chapel above the well, which was near the temple. It is said that the holy monastery stood on a hill, and nearby in the ravine there was a source that has long been considered special among the local population. It was over him that he built the chapel Razumovsky. However, in the twenties of last century, the latter was destroyed. The chapel "behind the dilapidated" itself was completely dismantled, and its bricks were used in the church fence.

Reconstruction

In the middle of the nineteenth century, a stone temple in Vladykino, which had already decayed by the time, required major reconstruction. It was decided not to repair, but to erect a new church building. Then, in 1854, Gabriel Matveyevich Tolokonnikov - a representative of the famous family of the same name, famous for his doctors, teachers and engineers - was donated huge funds for the construction of a new three-fold now existing temple. Maecenas himself took an active part in the construction.

The works were carried out on the basis of a project, the author of which was the architect A. A. Yaroshevsky. They began in 1854, and five years later, in February 1859, the refectory with side altars was consecrated: the southern one - the archangel Michael, the northern one - the archangel Gabriel, who was the patron saint of the creator of the temple.

Changes in the project

The main throne was consecrated by Metropolitan Philaret of Moscow. The priest in those years was Archpriest Vasily, who himself took part in the construction of the new monastery. The parishioners believed that if it were not for him, then the stone temple would not have been seen by the Vladyka residents. Originally, the church was supposed to be built much more than today. However, the rector Vasily, taking into account the small number of his parish and at the same time fearing that the patron Gabriel Matveyevich, due to the years of oldness, will not have time to complete the construction, persuaded the latter to begin building the building in a more modest form, as it is today. I must say that his fears were not in vain. Tolokonnikov died just a few weeks after the consecration of the monastery.

The clergy

The temple is located at the metro station "Vladykino" at: Altufevskoe shosse 4. To date, the abbot Father Sergius, as well as Archpriest Vladimir, priests Andrew, Dimitry, Andrei Rodionov, protodeacon and deacon serve in him. At the temple there are a group of charity, a Sunday school and a youth Orthodox center. Many residents of the capital come to pray before the Smolensk icon of the Mother of God, which is famous for the temple in Vladykino.

Schedule of services

On weekdays, the liturgy begins at nine in the morning, and the evening service at five in the evening. On Mondays, except on the eve of the great holidays, there is no service. On Sundays and on special days, early and late Liturgy are performed at seven and ten in the morning, after which a water-moleben begins. At the same time in the temple you can order a funeral service.
