Scalarians. Compatibility with other fish species
Aquarium fish are pretty peaceful. To distinguish them among other inhabitants of a home mini-pond is very simple. Due to the elongated fins (anal and spinal) they have a flat body of triangular shape. Light scales, decorated with transverse dark stripes - these are the main signs of a scalar. The compatibility of these fish with other species depends mainly on the volume of the aquarium and the number of plants contained in it. In order not to be cramped, they need a lot of space.
It should be noted that during the spawning period, these aquatic animals become very unsettling and fearful. However, they can easily be in the same tank with other non-aggressive rocks. The best of their neighbors can be antsitrusy, corridors, large neon, algae, tetra. A discus even helps to protect them from overeating. Skalarii, the compatibility of which must always be taken into account when filling a home pond, do not get along with cichlids, telescopes, amphibians, tetraodons, skates. It is not recommended to keep them together with aggressive fish species, for example, such as the Sumatran barbeque. Scalarians, whose compatibility with other species largely depends on the volume of the aquarium, occupy a certain territory and do not allow the inhabitation of other fish on it. Superbly coexist individuals of the same age and color. Young animals, planted in an aquarium to a more adult generation, and can at all remain without food.

Scalarians. Breeding
The sexual maturity of individuals of this species is reached by ten to twelve months. At this age, couples begin to form. It's very easy to notice them. As a rule, a male and a female constantly swim one after another. To stimulate the reproduction process, the temperature in the aquarium is recommended to be raised to 27 - 29 degrees. In the daily diet of fish, in addition to dry fish, one should include frozen "live" food. Three to four times a week you need to change the water. During the spawning period, the female lays eggs. To fertilize them, the male is always nearby.
