Regidron. Instruction for children.

Vomiting and diarrhea most often occur with food or chemical poisoning, while accompanied by severe intoxication of a life-threatening person, especially for children. In such cases, urgent medical care is required in the hospital. If there is no possibility to call a doctor, you can use an old but effective remedy - regidron. The instruction for children describes in great detail its use and dosage.

Regidron is a bag with a white powder that dissolves rapidly in water, has no smell and is salty-sweet in taste. The composition of this product includes sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium citrate and dextrose. Glucose promotes better absorption of salts and citrates, normalizes the acid-base balance of the blood.

Indications

The rehydron solution is used for severe dehydration of the body, which is caused by vomiting or diarrhea. If the child shows signs of dehydration, it is necessary to urgently start using rehydron. Instruction for children is different amount of solution, which should be diluted and taken inside.
It is also used as a prophylactic for large physical and thermal loads, which are accompanied by severe perspiration and can cause disturbance of the water-electrolyte balance.

How to apply rehydron? Instruction for children and adults

One packet is dissolved in one liter of boiled chilled water. Stir well until all the crystals have dissolved. Store the finished solution at a temperature of 2 to 8 degrees. Do not use after a day. The solution should not be mixed with other components, so that there is no violation of the drug

Before applying the solution, it is necessary to weigh the child in order to see the possible weight loss and the degree of dehydration. Nutrition, during rehydration therapy does not need to be interrupted, it is recommended only to avoid too fatty foods and food with simple carbohydrates.

To prevent dehydration, you should begin treatment with a rehydrone as early as possible, at the first sign of a beginning diarrhea.

Regidron for children with vomiting and nausea is best given in frequent small portions and in a cooled form. You can use a nasogastric tube, but only under the supervision of a doctor.

The first 6-10 hours of regidron should be taken in large amounts, which is twice the weight loss due to diarrhea. For example, if the patient lost 400 grams in weight, then the amount of solution should be 800 grams. During the treatment, no other liquids are required.
If diarrhea does not go away, it is recommended to introduce additional fluids besides the rehydrone.

Regidron for children up to a year appoint one teaspoon every 10 minutes for 4-6 hours. If the diarrhea is not severe, the amount of the solution is 40-50 ml / kg per day, and with a more serious, the total amount increases to 100 ml / kg per day and the solution is stopped only after the diarrhea has completely stopped and the water-electrolyte balance is restored.

Contraindications

Do not use the drug for kidney disease, diabetes, intestinal obstruction and individual intolerance of the drug components.
During pregnancy and lactation, it is possible to apply the regridron preparation. Instruction for children will tell you the necessary and safe dosage.

Side effects

Drowsiness, exhaustion, fever to 39 degrees, feces with an admixture of blood, diarrhea lasts more than five days or suddenly stops accompanied by acute pain. If during the reception of the rehydrone, the child has the above symptoms, it is urgent to call a pediatrician to establish the diagnosis of the disease.
