Perfect and indispensable pastel colors

In our everyday vocabulary, the phrase "pastel colors" is quite common. It is used in the field of decor, and in the field of personal image, and in various forms of art. So let's try to understand this definition and understand in what cases it is acceptable, and in which it is not.

So, pastel colors are a muted scale, which includes shades of pink, yellow, blue, purple and green tones. They can be both cold and warm, but one rule remains unchanged: it is pallor. No vulgarity and flamboyance, lack of vivid accents, a certain monochrome and tranquility are peculiar to them. They are very widely used in the design of interiors of any type, even the most extravagant, because it is these shades that can create the necessary balance that will not irritate and act on the eyes. The same goes for creating a personal image with the help of clothes and make-up.

Pastel colors are basic in art. To use their artists began in the era of antiquity, when the ancient Romans and Greeks abandoned their messages on the frescoes and walls. To understand what colors are pastel, it is enough to consider objects of their life and national costumes. But after the ancient world collapsed, pastel colors lost their former popularity, and returned to fashion artists only with the Renaissance. Since then and until today, most paintings can not be written without the use of pastels and its soft and gentle tones.

In order to understand in practice what colors are pastel, you can take any gouache paint, and add some white in it. It is this component that transforms any tone into pastel, makes it as if powdered and muffled. This allows you to simultaneously use quite catchy and flashy tones and make the composition restrained and calm. Thus, a child can write a picture in pastel colors, if he uses a sufficient amount of white in his practice.

When decorating the same interior it is important to choose the right combination of pastel colors. Despite the fact that they are very muted and not conspicuous, maintaining balance is necessary. It is important to adhere to the basic rule: when designing a room to use no more than three shades, which, in turn, will not resonate with each other. For example, the perfect combination will be pink, light green and beige tones.

In the interior, pastel colors also depend very much on lighting. Their lordship and fadedness will justify themselves only under the condition of a bright color. If you have painted the walls in pastel, you can place under the ceiling spotlights that will illuminate it. If the light is directed at the ceiling, the effect will be directly opposite.

Using a pastel in the interior or even in your image, do not forget to set bright accents. Often too faded appearance looks rather boring and unattractive. And if as a "chip" you add bright colors, which, of course, will be suitable for the color scheme, then your creative efforts will be crowned with double success.
