Painting bottles. Beautiful from the ordinary

It's a pity sometimes to throw out a bottle of wine of unusual shape, bright saturated color. So you want to transform it into some original decorative thing, give, so to speak, a second life, adapt it to storage, or decorate the interior. Such a desire arises, probably, in many creative natures, that is why there were so many different ways of decorating ordinary bottles and turning them into non-ordinary objects of everyday life and original gifts. The painting of bottles can be made with stained glass or acrylic paints. Moreover, the bottle is so democratic and timeless that it can be painted as you like, using traditional ornament, abstract painting, a picture in the spirit of pop art, expressionism, etc. Full scope for imagination and creativity. Painting bottles with their own hands is an activity to which children can be attached. They will definitely get something very original.

Painting bottles. Necessary materials

For the embodiment of creative ideas you need a beautiful bottle of colored glass. In addition: acrylic paints for glass and ceramics of the main spectrum of colors; Contour paste (in a special tube) for glass black, gold and silver; Disposable plate for mixing paints; Acrylic clear varnish; acetone; Thin brushes with natural bristles, cotton swabs, thick needles, matches, cotton wool, paper napkins, soft simple pencil (can be cosmetic) or a helium pen.

Painting bottles. Sequence of work

The very first and most difficult stage of work is drawing a preliminary contour of the pattern on the surface of the bottle (skimmed with alcohol or acetone). You can use a stencil, which is applied to the bottle and circled with a pencil or pen. You can draw the outline of the picture by yourself. In any case, the traditional way, when the drawing is placed under the glass and outlined by the contour, is unacceptable here.

After drawing the drawing, along the pencil lines it is outlined with a contour for the glass. As a result, you should get a convex contour drawing. If here and there are traces of a pencil or pen, then after drying out the contour they are washed off with water.

Now you can start painting. First, the bottle must be secured in an inclined state so that it does not rotate. For this purpose, a serving stand or two pieces of foam with slots are suitable. After the bottle is fixed, you can begin to fill the areas between the outline paints.

Acrylic paints are dense enough and not very liquid, so they are convenient to fill the individual sections between the contour. We use first one color, the darkest. After the dark ink has dried, the necessary transitions and small strokes with lighter colors are applied over it. The smallest details of the picture are dotted with a cotton swab or a match. To speed up the drying of the paint, use a household hairdryer. With him, the work will go much faster. You can dilute acrylic paint with varnish, it will lie thinner and more even, and the texture will become more transparent.

At the end of work and after drying of all layers of paint, the pattern is covered with acrylic lacquer. This makes it less vulnerable to washing and protects from possible damage.

Point-painting of bottles

There is another very interesting and unusual way of painting bottles, where only the outline is used. Color points from a multi-colored contour cover the surface of the glass, like a beaded patterned net. The technology of painting is similar to the previous one. The surface of the bottle is degreased, the preliminary contour of the pattern is applied. Then along these lines, squeeze out the contour with small dots, placing them close to each other, as if stringing beads or embroidering beads. The most diverse colors of the contour, as well as the gold and silver blotches create an amazing pattern. You can pre-primed glass surface with an acrylic primer, and on it, for example, a black contour draw a thin dot pattern. This manner of painting will imitate a delicate, delicate lace.

Painting bottles - a kind of creativity that turns simple everyday things into real works of decorative art, coloring life with bright colors, allowing you to "plunge" into the wonderful world of creative imagination.
