Neftekamsk: population, population, density, distribution

An important settlement of Bashkortostan, Neftekamsk, whose population is steadily growing, plays an important role not only in the republic, but throughout the region. This large economic and industrial center on the map of Russia appeared relatively recently, but takes a worthy place among other, more ancient brothers. Let's talk about how the city grew, who inhabits it.

Geographical position

Neftekamsk is located in the north-west of Bashkortostan, 200 km from the capital of the region - Ufa. From Moscow it is separated slightly more than 1 thousand km.

The name of the city was given by the nearby river Kama. The area of Neftekamsk is slightly less than 150 square meters. Km. On the territory of the settlement there is a small river Maryinka. The city is located in the northern forest-steppe natural zone, this is due to its climate.

City `s history

The territory, which today occupies Neftekamsk, began to be populated in the 18th century. Here was located the village of Kasevo, another name Petropavlovka, in which the peasants who belonged to the royal family lived. Their main occupation was the cultivation of bread. During the Pugachev rebellion, the village was almost completely destroyed, but it was reborn, and in the 20th century it became the basis for the new city. The indigenous population of Neftekamsk today is called Kasevo one of the districts of the city.

The appearance of a new city on the map of the USSR was associated with the beginning of the development of oil found nearby. In 1955 geologists came here, and then builders. And in 1959 Kasevo was renamed to Neftekamsk. In 1962 he was given the status of a city.

Climate and ecology

Neftekamsk, whose population we are considering, is in a temperate continental climate zone. Here the hot, though not very long summer, and the cold winter. The warmest month is July, when the thermometer stays on average at around +20. And the coldest is January, when the thermometer drops to minus 14 degrees on average. In the winter, frosts are not uncommon to 20-30 degrees, and in summer there is a heat up to 25-32 degrees. During the year, about 570 mm of precipitation falls here.

The city is surrounded by forests, and this has a beneficial effect on its ecology. Himself, too, is quite green, so he breathes well in Neftekamsk. Despite the fact that several large industrial enterprises operate in the city, they do not pollute the air much. The biggest damage to the air and water of rivers is caused by the inhabitants themselves, who increasingly use their own vehicles and litter them in natural areas.

Population dynamics

Observation of the number of residents of the city begins with the first day of its existence. Before that, in 1920, about 1.5 thousand people were registered in the village of Kasevo. In 1959 Neftekamsk was formed, the population of which then numbered almost 3 thousand people.

By 1967, the number of residents had increased 10-fold, and 8 years later it had doubled again. By 1988, the number of oilmen reached 100 thousand. Until 1997 the city grew steadily, at that time 119 thousand people lived here.

At the beginning of the 21st century, the number of townspeople showed multidirectional dynamics, and only since 2008 there has been a steady increase in population again. In 2016 in Neftekamsk lived almost 126 thousand people.

Population distribution

Like many small towns, Neftekamsk, whose population is used to living compactly, is not divided into administrative units. But people conditionally distinguish three parts in it: a center built up by high-rise buildings and, therefore, the most densely populated; The private sector, built up by small houses; And villas, in which residents prefer to spend summer time.

Infrastructure of the city

The number of residents of the settlement is not the least influenced by the convenience of the city and the comfort of living in it. Neftekamsk is a small city, and public transport is not very developed there, several bus companies are engaged in transportation of residents.

With other cities Neftekamsk connects the railway and even its own airport. The roads in the city are in relatively good condition, the administration periodically repairs them. In Neftekamsk, the social infrastructure is well developed, there are a sufficient number of educational, medical and cultural institutions.

Employment

Initially, Neftekamsk was built as a city for workers in the extractive industry, but today the main employers here are other enterprises. The Neftekamsk Employment Center notes that there are always vacancies at a major NefAZ bus plant, though mostly for men. Also locals work at a large Iskozh factory, which manufactures fabrics and sews clothes. Here, on the contrary, women are more often required. Therefore, there are no problems with employment among the local population, although young graduates of higher education institutions can not always find a job in their specialty.

National composition

Bashkir city Neftekamsk, whose population is different in some respects, has very different ethnic composition. So, 31% of the population call themselves Tatars, 29% - Russians, 26% - Bashkirs. The life expectancy of the oil-merchants is kept within the all-Russian framework and is about 70 years.
