Mount Kosvinsky Stone: description
The Ural Mountains are a very valuable and unique natural object. It is here that you can breathe clean air and drink spring water. Admire the majestic beauty of the native land. Get a charge of vigor and energy.
The Urals
In the boundless eastern expanses, the Ural Mountains stretch along a narrow belt from the north, from the Yamal peninsula, to the south, to the very borders of the Orenburg region. It is customary to consider them as a natural boundary dividing the continent into two halves: Europe and Asia. Their length is more than 2000 kilometers.
A distinctive feature is the expansion of the array as its length: in the upper point it is 40-60 km, down to 150. Also the mountain range is divided into five parts: the Northern Urals, the Southern, the Middle, the Polar and the Polar. Scientists claim that this massif formed more than 3.5 billion years ago as a result of a crustal break.
Rich natural edge
This area is a region with a large reserve of minerals. Out of 55 items, 48 were mined in the bowels of the Urals: iron, nickel, copper, gold, platinum, aluminum raw materials, potassium salts, precious stones - and this is not a complete list of them.
Due to its successful location in the taiga zone, besides the natural resources, the Northern Urals is famous for its forest. Most of the territory of the Sverdlovsk region is covered with deciduous and coniferous vegetation. Basically, these are valuable trees: cedar, pine, spruce, larch, which allows us to develop the wood processing industry.
Even along the territory of the ridge there are many large rivers: Vishera, Pechora, Kosva, Lozva. They are home to many different fish: herring, grayling, whitefish, taimen, salmon and other valuable species, so there is a well developed fishery. But to name the number of small river water bodies till now no one can.
General information about the array
The mountain Kosivinskiy Kamen, whose height is 1519 meters, is very well known outside the Ural lands. It is only half a meter below its neighbor (Konjak), so it is considered one of the highest on the Ural ridge. Its circumference is 40 km.
Many of the mountains are surprised by their original shape, which is represented in the form of a right cone with a plain at the top and steep slopes. Therefore, during the thawing of the snow, small lakes form on its plane.
It should be noted that on the mountain of Kosvinsky Stone there is a presence of rocky remains (areas of once higher surface, preserved from destruction by arrosion, represented as separately standing massifs) of a very interesting shape. Simply put - stone pillars.
Surrounding nature
Nature generously endowed the hill with a variety of herbs and flowers, which pleasantly delight the eye with their bright colors.
The main composition of the massif of the Kosvinsky Stone is represented in the form of a plutonic rock - dunite and pyroxenite. The presence of the first, of course, implies a deposit of precious metal - platinum, and the second - of sulphide ores and nickel.
On the lower slopes of the mountain for 900 meters to the top grow coniferous forests, passing into the tundra with huge boulders of stone placers.
On the southern side of the summit, the Malaya Kosva River, whose length is 10 km, originates. It flows into the Kamsky reservoir.
It is worth noting that the weather in this area is very variable, there are often rains and very few clear days.
Resting place for tourists
The small village Kytlym administratively belongs to the urban district of Karpinsku, and it is located on the eastern side at the foot of the mountain we are considering. Kosvynsky Stone attracts numerous tourists, and the village is a favorite place for stopping visitors. Its successful location - surrounded by the Ural Mountains - provides an opportunity to choose to conquer any of the peaks.

How to get from Ekaterinburg? A bus runs from the Northern Railway Station towards Karpinsk. This trip will take up to 8 hours. From Perm, the duration of the route is 11 hours. Further you have to get to Kytlym village by shuttle bus.
Using public transport, by bus, for example, you can reach the central station Karpinsk, and from there - a local bus to the village.

A great popularity among tourists is the rafting along the mountain rivers. Moving on the water surface, it is almost impossible to get off the track and get lost. Good mood and cheerfulness of spirit are provided to you.
Underground Secrets
Local residents say that inside the mountain the Kosvynsky Stone is completely dug by underground tunnels and tunnels and looks like a big anthill. These passages are so spacious that they can pass not only the car, but also a truck of large sizes.
It is worth noting the fact that until now there is a mysterious construction, there is constantly arriving a special transport with building materials and cement carriers. In the old days platinum was mined here, so the horizontal shafts dug for this purpose are quite convenient for work. Also there is a multi-level security system, and the entrance there is only possible exclusively through passes.
And one more mystery is hidden mountain Kosvinsky Stone - bunker, which since Soviet times has settled down inside. It is there that the command center of the strategic missile forces (Strategic Missile Forces) and the main control center for the air defense system are the Perimeter. All works there are under special control and in a regime of perfect secrecy, so we can only guess what is happening there.
The unique material dunite, which is used in the manufacture of refractories, has unique capabilities to block the scanning radio emission. Therefore, the location of the secret base of the armed forces is very beneficial for the military.
To ensure the life of the facility built power lines, built bridges across the rivers to ensure easy access of transport to the destination. Near the base, in the village Kytlyme, for the military, who are engaged in its protection and maintenance, built a small town with residential buildings and the necessary infrastructure. Officers with families live nearby - in the city of Karpinsk.
