Morning prayer - Fajr: how many rak'ahs, time. Prayer in Islam

One of the five pillars of Islam is prayer, a prayer through which a person conducts a dialogue with the Most High. Reading it, a Muslim gives a tribute of devotion to Allah. The performance of the prayer is obligatory for all believers. Without it, a person loses touch with God, commits a sin, for which, according to the canons of Islam, he will be severely punished on the Day of Judgment.

It is necessary to read Namaz five times a day at a time strictly specified for it. Wherever a person is, no matter what he is busy with, he must perform a prayer. Especially important is the morning prayer. Fajr, as it is also called Muslims, has tremendous power. His performance is equivalent to a prayer that a person would read all night.

At what time do the morning prayer?

Fajr-Namaz must be performed in the early morning, when a white band appears on the horizon, and the sun has not yet risen. It is during this period that the faithful Muslims pray to Allah. It is desirable that a person begins the sacred action 20-30 minutes before sunrise. In Muslim countries, people can navigate the azan that comes from the mosque. A person living in other places is more difficult. How do you know when to perform Fajr-prayer? The time of its fulfillment can be determined by a special calendar or schedule, which is called Ruznama.

Some Muslims use mobile applications for this purpose, for example, "Namaz's Time ® Muslim Toolbox". It will help to know when to start a prayer, and will determine the Qiblah, the direction in which the sacred Kaaba is located.

Beyond the Arctic Circle, where day and night last longer than usual, it is more difficult for people to decide the time in which they should perform prayer. Fajr, however, must perform. Muslims recommend to orientate themselves to time in Mecca or in a nearby country, where the change of day and night occurs in the usual rhythm. The latter option is preferable.

What is the power of Fajr-Namaz?

People who regularly pray to Allah before sunrise show deep patience and true faith. After all, for the sake of fajr, it is necessary to rise every day until dawn, and not to sleep with a sweet dream, yielding to the persuasions of the Shaytaan. This is the first test that the person has prepared for the morning, and it must be passed with dignity.

People who do not succumb to the devil reading prayer in time, the Almighty will protect from adversity and problems until the next day. In addition, they will succeed in eternal life, for observance of the prayer will all be counted on the Day of Judgment.

This prayer in Islam is very powerful, because on the eve of dawn next to the person are the angels of the departing night and the coming day, which are closely watched by him. Allah will then ask them what his slave did. The angels of the night will reply that when they left, they saw him praying, and the angels of the coming day will say that they also found him behind the prayer.

The stories of the Sahabs who performed the morning namaz in spite of everything

Fajr demands strict observance, no matter what circumstances may develop in a person's life. In those far times, when the prophet Muhammad was still alive, people performed real feats in the name of faith. They performed namaz contrary to everything.

The Sahabs, the companions of the Messenger of the Most High, performed the morning Fajr even when they were wounded. No misfortune could stop them. So, the outstanding statesman Umar ibn al-Khattab recited a prayer, bleeding after the attempt on him. He did not even think of giving up the service to Allah.

A companion of the prophet Muhammad Abbad in the moment of committing the prayer was struck by an arrow. He pulled it out of his body and continued to pray. The enemy shot him several more times, but this did not stop Abbad.

The ibn Rabi's garden, also seriously injured, died praying in a tent specially built for the sacred deed.

Preparation for prayer: bathing

Prayer in Islam requires some preparation. Before committing to any prayer, be it fajr, zuhr, asr, maghrib or isha, a Muslim is ordered to perform a ritual ablution. In Islam, it is called voodoo.

The orthodox Muslim washes his hands (hands), his face, caresses his mouth and nose. Each action he performs three times. Then the believer bathes with water every arm to the elbow: first the right one, then the left one. After that, he rubs his head. With a wet hand, a Muslim walks along it from the forehead to the back of the head. Next, he rubs his ears inside and out. After washing his feet to the ankles, the believer must complete the bath with the words of remembrance of Allah.

At the time of prayer, Islam instructs men to cover the body from the navel to the knees. The rules for women are more strict. It must be completely covered. The exception is only the face and hands. In no case can not wear tight or dirty clothes. The body of a person, his vestments and the place of committing a prayer must be clean. If voodoo is not enough, you need to perform a complete bathing of the body (ghusl).

Fajr: rak'ahs and terms

Each of the five prayers consists of rak'ahs. This is the name of one cycle of prayer, which is repeated two to four times. The amount depends on exactly what kind of prayer the Muslim makes. Each rocket includes a certain sequence of actions. Depending on the type of prayer it can vary slightly.

Consider what the fajr consists of, how many rak'ahs should be performed by the believer and how to properly perform them. Morning prayer consists of only two consecutive prayer cycles.

Some of the actions included in them have specific names that come to us from the Arabic language. Below is a list of the most necessary concepts that a believer should know:

  • Niyat - the intention to perform namaz;
  • Takbir - the exaltation of Allah (the words "Allahu Akbar", meaning "Allah is Great");
  • Kyam - standing;
  • Sajda - kneeling or bowing;
  • Dua - prayer;
  • Taslim - greeting, the final part of the prayer.

Now consider both cycles of prayer Fajr. How to read the prayer, ask people who only recently converted to Islam? In addition to following the sequence of actions, it is necessary to monitor the pronunciation of words. Of course, a true Muslim not only correctly pronounces them, but also puts his soul into them.

The first raket of Fajr-Namaz

The first cycle of prayer begins with the niyata in the position kyyam. The believer expresses the intention mentally, mentioning in it the name of the prayer.

Then the Muslim should raise his hands at the level of the ears, touch with his thumbs the lobes and direct his hands towards the Qiblah. Being in this position, he must say Takbir. It is necessary to say it aloud, and it is not necessary to do it in full voice. In Islam, you can glorify Allah in a whisper, but so that the believer can hear himself.

Then he covers the left hand with the palm of his right hand, clasps his wrist with his little finger and thumb, drops his hands slightly below the navel and reads the first surah of the Koran, Al-Fatiha. If desired, a Muslim can also say one more chapter of the Holy Scripture.

Then follows the bow, straightening and caring. Then the Muslim unbends his back, remaining in a kneeling position, once again falls prostrate before Allah and straightens again. This concludes the execution of the rak'ah.

The second raket of Fajr-Namaz

The cycles entering into the morning prayer (Fajr) are performed in different ways. In the second rak'ah, there is no need to pronounce the niyat. The Muslim becomes pose kyyam, folding his arms on his chest, as in the first cycle, begins to pronounce the sura of Al-Fatiha.

Then he makes two earthly obeisances and sits on his feet, shifted to the right side. In such a pose, you need to pronounce Dua "At-tahiyat."

At the end of the prayer, the Muslim pronounces taslim. He pronounces it twice, turning his head first towards the right shoulder, then left.

This ends the prayer. Fajr is performed by both men and women. However, they perform it in different ways.

How do women perform the morning prayer?

When carrying out the first rak'ah, the woman should hold her hands at the shoulder level, while the man raises them to the ears.

She does not make a deep bow as deep as a man, and she folds her hands while reading the surah of Al-Fatiha, on her chest, and not below the navel.

The rules of the Fajr-Namaz prayer for women are slightly different from the male. In addition to them, a Muslim woman should know that she is not allowed to perform during menstruation (haide) or postpartum hemorrhage (nifas). Only when purified from filth, can she perform the prayer properly, otherwise the woman will become a sinner.

What should the person who missed the morning prayer do?

It is worth mentioning another important issue. What should a Muslim do who missed the morning prayer? In such a situation, one should take into account the reason why he committed such a mistake. On whether it is respectful or not, the further actions of the person depend. For example, if a Muslim set an alarm clock, he went to bed early, but, despite all his actions, overslept, he can fulfill his duty to the Most High at any free time, as, in fact, he is not guilty.

However, if the reason was disrespectful, then the rules are different. Fajr prayer should be performed as quickly as possible, but not in those time periods when prayer is strictly forbidden to perform.

When can not you perform prayer?

In the day, several such intervals, during which it is highly undesirable to pray. These include periods

  • After reading the morning prayer and before sunrise;
  • Within 15 minutes after dawn, until the luminary rises in the sky to the height of one spear;
  • When it is at the zenith;
  • After reading asra (afternoon namaz) before sunset.

At any other time, it is possible to recompense namaz, but it is better not to neglect the sacred action, for the pre-dawn prayer, which the person put his heart and soul on, as the prophet Muhammad said, is better than the whole world is more important than anything that fills him. A Muslim who performs fajr at sunrise will not go to hell, but will be awarded the great rewards that Allah will bestow upon him.
