Childhood

Malika Kalandarova, whose biography begins in our presentation, was born in warm regions, in Central Asia, more precisely, in Dushanbe in 1950. The family was large and simple, not related to art. His father, a Bukharian Jew, was a hairdresser. Actually, her name was different, in documents Мазол Яшуваевна, in a court yard of the Daisy, and later - Malika Kalandarova. Biography, a nationality that was not particularly affected, initially had no special ups or downs. She danced in the courtyard and received from her neighbors her first applause. But I wanted to dance properly, and the child went to dance in the House of Culture, and then - in the children's studio of the Theater. Mayakovsky. Ensemble "Lola"

At the age of 14 Malika Kalandarova, whose biography is marked by a manifestation of will and perseverance, begins to study in the state ensemble "Lola". She did not even want to watch when typing, but she quickly ran to the musicians and asked them to play. The head did not even look at her when she began to dance. However, the sounds of music attracted the attention of the choreographer to the dancing girl, and she was taken to the dance group. Six months later, when Mazol turned fifteen, the ensemble gave the first performance on the stage of the Opera and Ballet Theater. Marguerite had a solo dance, whose name can be translated as "Broken Heart". In the whirlwind of music, the young dancer showed strict, refined movements.

Everything danced - eyes, shoulders, hands. Even the kicks were expressive. She made a great impression on the Minister of Culture, who told her behind the scenes that now her name would be Malik.

Development

It was impossible to study in an ordinary secondary school because of intense rehearsals. Therefore, Malika Kalandarova, whose biography continues, moved to evening school, and was on her own tour. The ensemble traveled the whole country and in 1969 for the first time went abroad. They applauded both in the West and in the East. Maliki had only one dance.

But the management of the ensemble noticed how vigorously it was received by the audience, and she was given a few more dances. One of the best was "Chaudion", in which there were high jumps, and flights, and precise landings. This dance was highly appreciated by Igor Moiseyev and asked Malik, whom he considered a miracle from the East, to put in his ensemble several dances that would convey the national flavor. It was in 1979. Biography of Maliki Kalandarova began to take shape not only as a dancer, but also as a director and a tutor. At Moiseyev, she created the dance "Hurricanes of Tajikistan", with which the master traveled the whole world. By that time she was already a People's Artist of the Tajik SSR, later to this title one more will be added - People's Artist of the USSR.

Emigration

Years of the collapse of the country for many divided life on before and after. In 1993, a civil war broke out in Tajikistan. Living in the country was just terrible. People could come into the apartment with weapons. And they stopped by. And not believing that before them a well-known and beloved country dancer, demanded proof of the dance, and after that left. Therefore, I had to leave my homeland and go to the unknown. After all, even the family of the famous dancer in the West and in the United States, no one was waiting with bouquets. They were simple emigrants, who had to survive to begin with, selling dishes. The dancer Malika Kalandarova, whose biography has undergone such strange changes, lived a dream to create a dance school.

East and USA

Despite the difficulties, more than ten years ago Malika with the support of the whole family managed to open the International Dance School in New York. It involves about one hundred and fifty people who immerse themselves in the magical world of the East, comprehending all the subtleties of Tajik, Khorezm and Indian dances. In addition to the school at Maliki, which is known in the States as Maya, there is also an ensemble that gives performances, performing the dances of the peoples of the USSR. It's exotic, which attracts the attention of the audience.

In 1972, Malika got married, quite tormented by the expectation of this happy event of the musician-dombra player Iskhak Gulkarov in love with her. They had two sons, Mark and Arthur. Artur Gulkarov was very artistic and plastic.

He organically entered the world of dance. He first came on stage when he was only five years old. Mom, who he worships now, has put on a dance, and my father accompanied me playing on dombra. At the age of six he danced before Mahmoud Esambaev, who was a friend of their house. The kid liked the dancer so much that a unique dancer promised to someday transfer his costumes to this young successor. Arthur performed a lot and in different countries. His tours were held in the US, then in Tajikistan, then in Russia. But at home, in Dushanbe, the most memorable concert was held, when he appeared after a long break there. He performed a potpourri from different dances, finishing his performance with "Kalinka". Arthur performed until 2009. And then he performed an operation to change the sex, and now there was a girl called Samira. For the whole family this was not an easy event. Father and brother did not accept Samira, but the mother is the mother, and she supported her child.
