However, originally this honorary title belonged to the house-spirit, thus the spirits of the house, who settled in the huts together with people. What is their role? To help the dwellers of the dwelling, look after the cattle, small children, warn of the danger, protect the house and the household from all evil forces. Therefore, the very word "house" was formed from such words as "home" and "know". It turned out something like "home-keeping", and simply - "house."
