Learning to paint a winter landscape: imbued with the atmosphere of a fairy tale
Winter - an amazing and (we will not be afraid of this word) fabulous season! Nature is radically transformed, a person has a unique opportunity to see it from a completely new perspective. However, painting a winter landscape is not an easy task. After all, I want the picture to turn out to be really alive. And coping with this often is beyond the power even more or less experienced artists.
If you do not have free money to buy a quality watercolor in the art salon or you simply do not have time for it, do not worry. Quite normal set of "honey" watercolor. Also, you do not have to spend money buying a set from a huge number of shades - most of them can be obtained by mixing the available colors on the palette.
The winter landscape should create the impression of fragility and tenderness. Therefore, it is better not to use ready-made flowers, but to look for some interesting combinations of them. Believe me, the result will be worth the time! The golden rule of winter landscapes is that there should be 2-3 basic colors. For example, very good for this purpose is suitable olive and gray-blue. Other colors should be obtained by mixing the main colors with other colors. Due to this, the picture will look much more realistic.
What will decorate your winter landscape? Of course, trees! To draw them, you can not take coal-black paint: let in reality, everything looks exactly like this, but your task is to present the reality that has passed through the prism of your perception. What color can you draw trees and shadows? Optimal shades are considered red-brown-copper. However, do not limit your imagination - you yourself create a winter fairy tale! The same paint (perhaps a little more light or darker shade) can represent trees on the horizon and hills.
Have our trees dried up already? Fine, now you can start to depict the foreground. For bushes, old grass, etc. You can use different shades of brown. The whole picture is "priporoshit" white watercolor. In some places, you can slightly shade the snow with other colors - so it will look much more picturesque.
After you have finished the work, the picture should be put in a pile of thick books for at least a week. So, the paper will remain flat, and you can after some time again assess the quality of work and fix any flaws, if necessary.
Success in creative work!
