Lambrequin for the bedroom with your own hands

A beautifully decorated window is an important element in interior design. To give the originality and completeness to the window opening, often use curtains with a lambrequin. This not only decorates the window, but also hides the holders of curtains, and sometimes the cornice itself. There are two types of lambrequins - they are soft and hard.

Depending on how soft lambrequins are cut, they can be divided into rectangular, arched and wavy. They create a feeling of splendor, sophistication. Particularly good is a soft lambrick for a bedroom. In a simpler version, it will decorate the interior of the kitchen or the nursery. Soft lambrequins sew from curtain fabric, laying it out with bizarre folds. To do this, you need to pick up well draped and almost non-creasing fabric. It's easy to learn how to sew soft lambrequins with your own hands. For the production of hard lambrequins , certain skills will already be required, since it will be necessary to produce a dense frame that holds the mold. On the inside, they are duplicated with non-woven fabric and glutinous cloth. Rigid lambrequins are fixed in front of the cornice on a separate strip.

Master Class

Let's make a simple lambrequin for a bedroom. The suspension element in this model is called the svag. The width of the finished svaga should not be more than 1/5 of the height of the window opening. If the height of the window is 1.5 m, then the svag must have a width of 30 cm. The fabrics should be taken twice as much, so that eventually the lambrequin was decorated with beautiful folds.

Technology:

1. For making the pattern of the svag, take a piece of paper and attach it to the cornice.

2. From one edge of the eaves to the other, place the rope in such a way that its contour forms an arc of the desired width. Alone it will be difficult to do it, find an assistant.

3. Circle the rope on the paper. Cut out the resulting pattern and make a blank of the future svaga, given the folds.

4. Cut out the part from the fabric and start assembling the folds. All folds should have the same depth. At the end, check the width of the resulting svag.

5. Treat the bottom of the svag with oblique bake or braid.

6. The top part of the svaga is hemmed with a tape for curtains.

7. Bottom and top iron. With the help of curtain tape, fix this element on the cornice.

You made by your own hands a magnificent lambriken for the bedroom! This way of draping the window brings a special zest to the interior. Now you can make more complex lambrequins. Patterns on paper for structures of several elements are built on the same principle. Finished details of complex lambrequin are sewed together.

To cover the edges of the svaga, you can sew the so-called tie lambrequin.

Making patterns and cutting a tie

1. Construct a trapezoid, one side of which is equal to the length of the tie, for example 45 cm, and the other - shorter, for example, 30 cm. The width of the tie depends on the number of folds.

2. We cut out the tie, we work the edges. We lay the folds. We fix it on the cornice.

Lambrequin for the bedroom turned out very calm, emphasizing the atmosphere of warmth and comfort of this room.
