Kinburn spit: rest, fishing, photos and reviews

Kinburn Spit is a quiet and amazing place, which only recently gained popularity among holidaymakers and became a tourist symbol of the Mykolayiv region of Ukraine. For a long time there was a military, then - the border zone. But after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Kinburn turned into a kind of magnet, attracting with uncontrollable force wishing "wild", and at the same time, an exclusive holiday. Now the whole peninsula, stretching from the confluence of the Dnieper and the Bug to the Black Sea, is called that way. Because this edge of the earth is almost entirely composed of washed sand.

Historical place

Kinburn spit is mysterious and noteworthy. It has an amazing history. About this peninsula was written by ancient historians. Local legends say about the Amazons who lived here, about Scythian gold, and about the sacred temple of Hecate, supposedly hidden in the local tracts. The peninsula was inhabited by Greeks, Turks and Tatars. The latter gave him that name. After all, the current name of the spit comes from the Turkic "Kilburun". Here stood a Turkish fortress, taken by Suvorov in 1787, during the battle for Ochakov. This was due to the cunning of the Zaporozhye Cossacks who, under the nose of the Turks, dug the canal through the scythe and let their "seagulls" in there. Traces of this event are still visible on the surface of the earth, and at the end of the spit - where there was a fortress - is a monument to Suvorov.

How to get to the "almost island"?

Kinburn Spit does not have roads in the usual sense of the word. Here there are several villages and farms, interconnected by quicksand. Every year, the places where you can drive change, and only very sophisticated drivers of cars with four-wheel drive can travel here by land. After the frontier detachment was removed from here, between the "mainland" and the villages there is a cross-country vehicle "Ural", which carries a bus. His path runs through the desert and the village of Golaya Pristan in Nikolaev. He goes once a day. But much easier than shaking through the sand for many hours in the heat of the desert, for forty minutes to reach the end of the boat to the end of the spit or to the village of Rymba. So many tourists arrive. Travel to the Kinburn Spit is organized, as a rule, from Ochakov. At the berths there are guarded parking lots where you can park your car without any problems for a few days. Basically it's weekend excursions, but more often people come to live a week or two on the very "almost island", as they say. And this is not without meaning.

Where to live?

Kinburn offers visitors a lot of places to relax. There are also boarding houses, and the private sector, and campgrounds. It is difficult to say whether the Kinburn Spit will be to the liking of lovers of comfort. The recreation center is here, and not one - it's "Steep scree", and "Elite", and "Wonderland". All of them have good living conditions, good kitchen, wireless internet. Mostly these bases and tourist complexes are located either in the village of Pokrovka or in the Rymba hamlet. Cheaper to stay in the private sector - and here you already choose what you like - the convenience and higher price, or hot water in a natural "boiler" in the sun and a room in a village house. But the Kinburn Spit has one peculiarity - practically nowhere you will see so-called settlements "on the first line". From any base or private house to the sea you need to go through a beautiful flowering steppe and pine grove from 600 to 1000 meters. On the beach, almost no one settles. Or rather, on the beach. All villages and farms stand on the shore of the Dnepro-Bug estuary with fresh water. Only one of the departmental bases is located near the sea berth, and a stationary camp is organized annually . But those who do not want to go on the steppe can be comforted - several times a day enterprising locals organize something like a "minibus" to the beach.

Nature

Kinburn Spit is now part of the landscape national park "Beloberezhya Svyatoslav". The fact is that these places during the time of the Old Russian prince were close to the commercial transhipment point of the famous route "from the Varangians to the Greeks". The spit arrow is a few kilometers from the famous island of Berezan. This place has an amazing microclimate. Sometimes it's raining in Ochakov, and the whole of the Mykolayiv region is flooded, but there will not drop a drop. The thing is that on the one hand the spit is washed by the waters of the Dnieper-Bug estuary, and on the other - by the sea. At its widest point, primitive relict forests are preserved, pine forests are planted between the villages in the sand, and a wonderful steppe with healing mud lakes stretches closer to the narrow end, where thousands of snow-white birds fly into the air. At the end of the spit settled northern eiders, and sometimes in the sky you can see flocks of pelicans. On the inner lakes nesting swans, and dolphins a few meters from the shore - is not a rare sight.

sights

They are mostly natural here. What is famous for the Kinburn Spit? Rest in these places, of course, offers a trip to the "lost world" of the fairy tale. First of all, this is the famous Volyzhin forest - the remnants of the primeval thicket of Gilea, about which Herodotus wrote. These are oaks, birches, alder trees, overgrown with lianas. By the way, one of these trees is shown during the excursions, assuring that it is an oak sung by Pushkin. The same one that the "cat scientist" used to go around. So it is quite possible that the Kinburn Peninsula is Lukomorye. Why not? Sandy ravines, overgrown with creeping vegetation and sometimes swampy, are called sagas by local residents. They do not go there and they do not advise tourists. On the spit there are steppe wolves, boars, chamois and sand jerboas, similar to small kangaroos. With all this wildlife you can get acquainted by visiting the zoo of the forestry. And another attraction is the so-called mullet lake - the place where this fish spawns. They are fresh and uniquely clean.

Beach

The local coast is somewhat like an island in Thailand. Endless sky and sea, white tiny sand crunching under your feet, a small entrance to the sea ... And the beaches are huge, boundless. The most equipped of them is at the end of the spit - there is everything that the soul desires - restaurants and cafes, water bananas and skis, sunbeds ... It is where one of the Ochakovo boats arrives. Another beach, near which there is a bar right on the beach, is located not far from Rymbov. There you have to sunbathe on your own towel in the shade of olive trees. A little further, near the pier - the beach of the departmental base, but there it is crowded, and there is absolutely no shadow. But, however, find a completely deserted place, such that in broad daylight you can swim naked, and no one, except for the numerous gulls and gulls, will pay attention to this, Kinburne is not at all a problem. Sometimes, right in the sea, a few meters from the shore, you can find valuable deposits of very useful white clay. And what are the sunsets! Simply unearthly beauty.

Kinburn Spit: fishing

Primarily catching here is not at the sea - where the reserved places - and on the estuary. This brackish and warm water is well bitten by large carp and carp, as well as bulls and mullet. Sea fishing is allowed away from the shore. Experienced tourists are very praised underwater hunting, where you can catch large fish and stingrays. However, closer to the end of the spit the water is a little muddy.

Kinburn Spit: reviews

Those who have visited here at least once, irresistibly draws here again. This place is loved by romantic natures, newlyweds, families with children, and just wanting to escape from civilization. People like that you can go here from May to October. Although the swimming season lasts three to four months, but fishing, amazing milk from local cows and glades with white mushrooms is another highlight of the spit. Of course, bother local furious mosquitoes, and in the sea sometimes there are jellyfish and seaweed. But even this is a sign of excellent ecology and clean air. So come, do not hesitate. This is one of the best holiday destinations in Ukraine.
