Italian defender Domenico Crisito

Domenico Crisito is an Italian football player playing in the left-back position. He can also play in the center of defense, and also - to rise higher and take on the role of a supporting midfielder. The last five years, Domenico Crisito spent in Russia, speaking for the St. Petersburg "Zenith".

Carier start

Domenico Crisito was born on December 30, 1986 in the south of Italy, but at the age of thirteen moved to the north to become a football player. There he joined the football academy of the club "Genoa", with whom he entered into a professional contract in 2004 when he turned eighteen. But he made his debut in the adult lineup in the season 02/03 when he was only 16 years old. As soon as a professional contract was concluded, the strongest club in Italy, Juventus, who had been eyeing the player for some time, bought out fifty percent of the rights to a defender for 950 thousand euros.

In Juventus, the young Italian did not claim to be in the base - he was content with playing for a double for two years, until he was returned to Genoa, where he began to receive the practice game. In the season 06/07, Domenico Crisito played in 39 games, scoring four goals, than impressed by the leadership of the "old lady". Therefore, in 2007, the Turin club bought from Genoa the remaining fifty percent of the defender's contract for seven and a half million euros.

Going to Juventus

In "Juventus" Domenico Krishito, whose biography at that time could change dramatically, hoped to become a major player. However, in the composition of the champion of Italy, incredible players played with which the young athlete could not compete. As a result, for six months he spent on the field only eight matches, so he wanted to return to "Genoa", where he did everything perfectly.

Return to Genoa

"Genoa" paid six million euros for a six-month rent of Krishito, having acquired the right to buy out a player after the lease for 11.5 million euros. For half a year, Krishito showed that he did not lose form and fit perfectly into the team, having played 16 matches.

In the following three seasons Domenico was the key player of the team, having entered the field 109 more times and having scored five goals. It was then that he began to pay attention to larger clubs, including "Juventus", but Krishito basically did not want to return to Turin. The most tempting was a proposal from Russia, and in the summer of 2011 for fifteen million euros, Domenico first went out to play outside of Italy.

The game for Zenit

The new club Domenico Krishito - "Zenith", for which he continues to perform until today. Already in the first season, the Italian showed that he had serious intentions, playing 32 matches and scoring one goal. For five years, the defender firmly entrenched in the foundation of the St. Petersburg club, having played in the amount of 152 matches and scoring 9 goals. In the current season, the 29-year-old Italian appeared on the field in 12 matches, scoring four goals (the last time he scored so much for the whole season in 2006-2007 for "Genoa") and giving two assists.

National team appearances

Crichito made his debut in the Italian team in August 2009 in a friendly game against the Swiss national team and has since played 22 games, giving them three assists. At the 2010 World Cup, he went as a base player and spent all three matches in the tournament. It was also planned that he will go to the European Championships in 2012, but just then in Russia there was a scandal with contractual matches, and although Krishito's fault was not proved, the head coach did not take him to the tournament. As a result, Euro 2012 remained the only major tournament on which Domenico played. The last match for the national team defender held in March 2014 against the Spanish team. However, he again received a challenge to the national team in October 2016 for a match with Macedonia, but remained on the bench.
