Installation for washing heat exchangers: the principle of operation. Pump for washing heat exchangers
During operation, a thick layer of scale is formed on the walls of the heat exchangers, as well as a calcareous deposit. As a result, the efficiency of using boilers and other heating equipment is significantly reduced. To return the heating system to its capabilities, you can use modern methods of cleaning pipes and radiators with the help of washing facilities. The main task of installations for washing heat exchangers is to ensure the forced movement of a chemical washing reagent fed into the system, which will remove most of the build-up, scale and various contaminants. The pump is the main part of the flushing system.
When to clean the heating equipment
Clean the heating and process systems equipped with heat exchangers, scheduled after the end of the heating season, or once in 2 years.
Scheduled flushing
Private homeowners clean up autonomous systems much less often. But if there are signs of pollution, the owner should think about the need for preventive maintenance. In the event of a drop in the efficiency of the heating system, not only the pipe-in-pipe heat exchanger (or any other) is washed, but also the radiators and other components of the system.
Signs of pollution
When does the heat exchanger need to be flushed? This can be determined by the following characteristics. Thus, the fuel consumption for the boiler is significantly increased. The boiler often stops, the heat loss decreases, the batteries do not warm up sufficiently. Also, the rapid clogging of filters indicates the need for washing.
If you regularly perform the washing with the use of installations for washing heat exchangers, then the pipelines and other elements of the system get rid of blockages, as well as the violation of the circulation of the coolant.
The use of such equipment makes it possible to prevent accidents, the failure of radiators, the need for major repairs or complete replacement, the growth of energy costs.
In boiler equipment, the heat exchanger is a critical and responsible unit. It is on it depends the efficiency of heating the premises, as well as the correct flow of technological processes. From washing it is not necessary to refuse, especially if its necessity was stated by experienced specialists after diagnosis. Cleaning using a unit for washing heat exchangers using hydrochemical technology will cost much less than a major overhaul or complete replacement of heating equipment.
Washing technology
It is possible to distinguish several methods of cleaning work, which are conventionally divided into:
- Demountable.
- Indiscriminate.
Demountable technology is necessary for heavy dirt or if you need to replace any components of the system. When the work is done, the heat exchanger must be disassembled, and then each component is subjected to mechanical, hydrodynamic or chemical flushing.
Since demountable cleaning requires certain resources, the most common method is not requiring the mandatory dismantling of the system. This is a chemical washing technology. If it is carried out regularly, it will help to preserve the properties and characteristics of the device for the entire lifetime.
Types of washing equipment
If the heating system is cleaned in time, it will help to get rid of corrosion, scale and sediment. There is a special equipment for servicing heat exchangers. Several types of such installations can be distinguished. We will discuss them further.
Hydrotreating
This technology is the supply of compressed air into the heating system together with water. By means of high pressure and frequent pulses, small air bubbles actively fill themselves with individual areas. This makes it possible to quickly and efficiently separate the deposits on the walls of the water heat exchanger.
For cleaning, compressors are used in this case. This equipment allows you to flush the entire heating system. But the process is carried out in stages. To achieve maximum effect, small areas should be washed. Before proceeding to the process, determine the required amount of water and the pressure level that will be supplied to the DHW heat exchanger or any other.
Chemical products for washing
They are used to obtain the maximum effect from the washing of heat exchangers and the heating system with copper pipes. Also chemicals are suitable for steel products. With installations for washing heat exchangers, liquids of red color are used, which, reacting with impurities, change their hue. Depending on the amount of dirt, the amount of money is adjusted. Along with special fluids, hydrochloric acid or orthophosphoric acid is also used. These substances will help to clean the heat exchanger "pipe in the pipe" or any other as quickly and efficiently as possible.
For high-quality cleaning, 10 to 30 percent of chemicals are pumped into the system. The use of aggressive substances allows not only to clean various elements of the system, but also protects against corrosion, foaming of water, increases the service life of the boiler.
Device for descaling «Romantic-20»
This is a very affordable product that allows you to clean the entire heating system as cleanly as possible. But it is important to understand that the device is intended for use in systems where the volume of the coolant is up to 300 liters.
"Ropuls"
This installation can be used not only for heat exchangers and heating systems. It effectively cleans the drinking water supply system. Also this device is widely used for cleaning water-heated floors, solar collectors and other equipment. "Roplus" removes the effects of corrosion, scale and other contaminants.
"Rockal"
This is a small pump that allows efficient washing of heating systems and boiler heat exchangers. The apparatus is used for washing steel, and copper pipes. The system is suitable for heating equipment, where the amount of coolant is not higher than 300 liters.
With their compact dimensions, the technical characteristics of the Rocal circulation pumps are quite high. So, the capacity is up to 40 liters per minute. The pump is capable of maintaining a pressure of up to 1 bar.
Cillit-boy
This is a modern system equipped with the electronic control function. Pumps of this type are used not only for heat exchangers and heating. They can also be used for flushing the drinking water supply systems.
Self-washing device
As can be seen, there is nothing complicated in the design of the flushing station. It is a pump, resistant to aggressive chemistry tank, as well as hoses for connection to a water heat exchanger or to a heating system. Therefore, you can assemble this installation yourself.
Booster
Bootsters are called devices for chemical washing of heat exchangers in boilers and columns, any radiators and for cleaning the heating system. The operation is performed without the need to disassemble the system. The installation consists of three parts:
- Tank.
- Pump.
- TEN.
There are systems without TEN. However, they have low efficiency. Let's see how to make a booster for washing heat exchangers. The first thing you need a tank. In the role of a container can act a can of plastic with a volume of 10 liters. Also, hoses of ½ or ¾ in diameter and a pump are required.
Make a booster based on the type of pump. This may be a submersible type element or a separate pump. In the case of a submersible, no holes in the tank are needed. A hose is connected to the pump, which is connected to a heat exchanger. The second is taken to the tank. The main thing is that the pump can withstand the impact of acid - there are a number of chemically resistant devices.
Minus such devices in the absence of a TENA design. Rinsing the heat exchanger with your own hands using a cold reagent will take much longer. Also this is higher electricity costs.
