But it has a significant drawback: injections must first be done within six months twice a week, and then for five years every three to four weeks. The injected serum is made from a substance that causes allergies and therefore there are often contraindications for such treatment, although serious complications are extremely rare. Immunotherapy is not a treatment if there is an allergy to cats. But its use is more effective than the usual drug treatment, because it eliminates the causes that caused allergies, and not only struggles with symptoms. The active development of immunotherapy makes it possible to create more convenient and effective means.

Reducing the risk of allergies are facilitated by such simple actions:

• Installing an air purifier or ionizer;
• Cleaning rooms with a vacuum cleaner, equipped with high-purity filters;
• Removing carpets, voluminous draperies, etc.
• Regular washing of the cat (at least once every two weeks).
