If the baby does not cough

For young parents, one of the most burning topics is the child's chair. The fact is that babies often have such problems as constipation or diarrhea, and many diseases can begin with these symptoms. The question of what to do if the baby does not crook begins to worry adults almost from the first days of his life.

After birth, after a few hours, from the baby comes out the so-called meconium - a uniform feces of dark or black color. In a few days the baby's bowel movements will brighten. Normal in this period is a feces of a yellowish hue, mushy, without any veins of mucus or blood, having an acidic odor. If the child is on artificial feeding, the consistency can be more dense, and the smell is sharper. Usually the kid at this age defecates almost after each feeding and it is considered the norm. However, what to do if the baby does not bob for a long time?

First, it must be remembered that constipation is considered the absence of a chair for at least 48 hours, before that time, there is no need to take any measures. If the child is breastfed, it is worth paying attention to the fact that he receives enough milk. Count this by measuring the pesses (in the first months of their life should be at least 12 per day), as well as gain in weight of the baby.

If everything is normal in this direction, but the newborn does not pump, the cause may be spasms in the intestine or rectum. To get rid of them, it is recommended to easily stroke the tummy of the baby in a clockwise direction, press your knees to your stomach and wait for the result for another day. If the result has not come, then other help will be required.

When the baby does not croak in the first months of life, parents can use a gas pipe. It acts much more tenderly and gently in comparison with the enema. In addition, this device will help and with excessive gas generation. Its action is that, irritating the walls of the rectum, it causes their reflex contraction, the tube is pushed out with gases and, in most cases, with feces. The end of the device should be greased with a cream or oil, it is introduced to a depth of no more than 8 cm. The result from its use should come already after 15-20 minutes.

Of course, do not forget about the enema, which is practically in any home. However, it is not necessary to get involved in this procedure, besides, it is necessary to strictly observe the norms of water for use in relation to the age of the baby. The enema is used in the event that a few days there was no stool, while the baby is pushing, and his stomach is hard. Since this is more a medical procedure, it is better to consult with a doctor before using it.

Currently, pharmacies can find microclysters containing a special solution for softening the stool and stimulating the intestines. They have been used since the age of three months and are much more convenient to use than traditional enemas. If the baby does not pump, then it is possible to use them. That's what you do not have to do, it's to use such folk methods as a piece of soap and a thermometer for other purposes. This procedure is not only unpleasant for the baby, but can also be dangerous.

It is worth noting that if an infant does not pump independently, but only with the help of any of the additional ones listed here, or other means, pediatrician consultation and careful examination of the baby is necessary. After all, this symptom can talk about many diseases, including intestinal obstruction. In the latter case, the temperature may rise and vomiting may appear.

I must say that if the chair is missing for 2-3 days, and the child feels normal and does not bother with anything, then parents should not have special reasons for experiencing, especially if the baby is breastfed. However, monitoring the frequency of the infant's stool is important in order to identify and eliminate any unpleasant diseases in time (including dysbiosis).
