How to stop mating? A few steps to cultural speech

Beautiful and cultural speech should not contain obscene vocabulary, in simple terms - mats. However, it so happened that in our country they can be heard everywhere. Office, public transport, city park, school yard, university - unprintable words surround us, come from everywhere. However, if you have already asked yourself how to stop swearing, you have made the first, and very small step. But is it possible?

First of all, you need to find a suitable motivation for this. Perhaps in your home there live small children, and you do not want them to swear, imitating you. Or you just want to maintain the image of a well-educated, educated person, in which mats do not fit at all.

Historians and linguists believe that literally all the foul words we know are from ancient pagan spells. And these spells were directed not at something good and bright, but at destroying and destroying the human race. They were used to bring trouble (in particular - infertility) to entire nations. It is not by chance that most of them are connected with the sexual organs in one way or another. In fact, the real purpose of these words is a kind of curse.

However, it is not enough to understand that it is bad to use profanity. What do psychologists advise to those who are looking for a way to stop foul language?

There are many literary words that can be an excellent substitute for foul language. Note: Usually mats break from the tongue when we experience a rush of emotions (most often negative emotions). And all because we are too lazy (or our vocabulary does not allow) to find a suitable literary replacement for this or that word.

Often we use obscene words without noticing it. It's just perfect if you have a person in your environment who is ready to help you and "control" the flow of words that you say. This person should patiently make comments to you whenever you once again depart from your decision to stop swearing.

Some people who are looking for ways to stop foul play are helped by something like a "penalty system". Such methods can be used both in the family circle and at work (in the second variant you will be able to "cultivate" the whole team!). The essence is simple. You buy or make a piggy bank with your own hands and set the size of the fine. It can be a minimum - 5, 10 rubles. However, to part with them because of such a trifle reluctant, right? "The guilty" should apologize to everyone, after which to put the money in the piggy bank.

If you are looking for ways how to stop swearing, try to understand that each person reproduces information exactly in the form in which it receives. Try to read as many newspapers, books, news, where obscene words are not used at all. By the way, classical literature, among other things, will help you expand your vocabulary.

Thinking about how to disaccustom yourself to swear, some people start a whole exercise book, in which every day they write down information about how many obscene words were said by them. Best of all, if such a notebook, tablet or notepad will always be in your sight. Awareness will help you stop scolding, and on average, to develop a habit of controlling yourself takes about 3 weeks.

For many, the most effective method is punishment. Here the principle of reflexes works. For example, you can put on an arm, like a bracelet, an elastic band for money. Whenever a swear word comes out of your mouth, you need to pull it off and release it sharply, so that the rubber band hits your hand painfully. Over time, your brain will begin to be afraid to give out obscene words.

There is nothing difficult in how to stop swearing a girl or a guy. Do not demand from yourself the impossible: first, accustom yourself to the fact that nasty words should be uttered very quietly, almost inaudibly. Then you can not talk, cut them, and so on, until they completely disappear from your speech.

And, of course, try to treat everything with a positive - then the need for "curses" will completely disappear with time.
