It should be noted that the laptop due to its small size and high cost is just an excellent object for a potential thief. On a trip, you should always be watchful and keep an eye on your things. Protecting the laptop is one of the main tasks in doing so.

Perhaps the best protection against theft is considered a reliable disguise of the laptop. It is best that the computer in general is always in a convenient backpack for carrying. If the thief is less likely to see the laptop in sight, then, accordingly, there will be less thought about stealing.

Also very often the laptop serves as a center for entertainment in public places (in a park, cafe). It is very important to protect the laptop in such conditions. There are just moments when you need to go away for a few minutes. Well, do not take the same laptop with you. Often they just ask other people to look after things. At this moment, it's just that theft can happen.

In such cases, you can use a special lock with a cable. The algorithm of operation of such a lock is quite simple - the lock itself is inserted into a special connector in the side panel of the laptop, and the cable is wound up behind any fixed object.

There is one more option: you can use USB-signaling. The device is connected via USB-connector. While the thief pulls out the cord, the siren immediately activates. Thus, the laptop owner will immediately be notified of an attempted theft.

There are also special programs that provide an opportunity to track the laptop after theft. How do these programs work? It's very simple - as soon as the stolen laptop is connected to the Web, it immediately indicates its geographical location. However, such programs have one big disadvantage - the programs are paid.

Some similar utilities offer the user the function of deleting all data in case of laptop theft. It will not be possible to protect the laptop, but all data on the computer will be erased, and the attacker will not be able to get them. There are also such programs that take pictures of a person through a web-camera and send photos to a certain E-mail.

Protecting the laptop from theft can also be embedded in ordinary stickers on laptops. In our country, unfortunately, such protection has not yet been introduced, but abroad there are specialized services that search for stolen equipment.

After purchasing a laptop, it is advisable to immediately rewrite to itself its serial number. After the laptop is stolen, you can report to the police with this number. Thus, when the device is found, it will be returned to its rightful owner. In addition, you can notify the laptop manufacturer about the theft. It simply blocks this device, therefore, the new owner will not be able to receive technical support and will remain without maintenance.

Remember! A 100% guarantee against laptop theft will not come from any program, no device. It's better just to follow simple recommendations: do not strongly "shine" the laptop in public places, be careful not to leave your laptop unattended, carry it in a special bag or backpack.
