Your dream - a ready man-made gift for the New Year - Santa Claus from rubber bands? On the machine "Rainbow Loom", specially designed for complex products, you can personally make a classic figure of a magical grandfather with a lush white beard.

Materials and Tools

First, imagine Father Frost - how do you want to see him? Will he wear his traditional red suit? For example, to add originality to the future figure, the masters suggest replacing the slightly podnadoevshuyu red palette with a new one - purple. Learn how to mold the elastic bands from Santa Claus in such a way that he conquered not only the stylish appearance, but also the fashionable coloring of the New Year's attire.

For work you will need:

  • "Fanny Lum", black, purple, pale orange and white flowers;
  • Two black beads for the eyes;
  • Two beads for the nose and belt (it is better to take contrasting and well combined with a suit, for example pink and white or purple and green);
  • Two hooks;
  • Sintepon for packing;
  • Machine "Rainbow Loom."

Getting Started

First remove from the machine the middle row of columns, and unfold the side rows in such a way that the open sides are facing in the opposite direction. If you already have the experience of creating interesting products from the "Fanny Lum", you are probably guessing how to weave a figurine of Santa Claus out of rubber bands.

Making souvenirs starts from the bottom - with boots:

  1. To do this, throw on the posts of double rubber bands of black color, twisting them with a figure eight.
  2. On top, cover one more black elastic band, without twisting. Weave both boots at the same time, so that the leggings of the figure can then be easily combined.
  3. Drop the lower rubber bands into the center of the machine.
  4. Throw black "Fanny Lum", without twisting, around the perimeter of the resulting rectangles and drop the gum line of the bottom row into the center. Continue to weave, until in total you will not get six rows. Each time, lower down the finished threaded levels.

We continue the weaving

If you are not well versed in making souvenirs from "Fanny Lum", do not worry: you will easily understand how to weave Santa Claus out of elastic bands.

After you finish the boots, go to their decorating:

  • To weave the fashionable white lapels for the grandfather's shoes, pounce the white rubber band on the hook four turns, hook the second hook with the same hook and drop all the loops on it.
  • Having made twelve similar preparations, pounce them along the perimeter of the resulting rectangles.
  • Throw the rubber bands of the lower row into the center and throw the purple "Fanny Lum", without twisting them.

Repeat the previous step three more times.

The third stage - we make the trunk

The boots are ready! If before you did not know how to make Santa Claus out of gum, now for sure you can not only fulfill all the recommendations to the end, but also repeat the weaving of the figure, and even teach the new complex skill of one of your friends.

When the grandfather's shoes are completely ready, you can proceed to fabricate the trunk by combining both legs:

  1. To do this, carefully move your right foot one column to the left.
  2. From above, along the perimeter of a large rectangle, throw, without twisting, the purple gum.
  3. Between the two rectangles, cross-cross two violet gums, twisting them with a figure eight.
  4. Tear off the rubber bands of the bottom row in the center.
  5. Then you need to expand your torso. To do this, place an upper hook on the extra hook from the rightmost column of the bottom row, shift the lower elastic band to the next right column, and the upper band to the back. The same actions must be repeated in the remaining corners of the rectangle.
  6. Wrap the purple gum, without twisting them, along the perimeter of the rectangle.

Fourth stage

The most difficult part of the work is completed, and now those who have long been interested in how to make Santa Claus out of elastic bands will be perfectly clear what to do next. For beginners in the weave kept the most detailed instructions. So:

  • Throw the rubber bands of the lower row into the center. Please note that there will be one rubber band on the bottom posts, in the bottom row, and four on each of the central ones.
  • Weave the edge of the grandfather's caftan by the same principle, on which white lapels for boots were made. It will be necessary to make sixteen blanks of white gum.
  • Throw the rubber bands of the lower row into the center, put the purple gum around the perimeter. Repeat.
  • Throw on the perimeter of the black gum.
  • Tear off the rubber bands of the bottom row in the center. Pass the purple gum into the bead (correspondingly, white or green) and pull it onto the two central pillars of the first row. On the remaining columns, throw purple gums.

There is very little left

Since the figure turns out to be quite large, you may need more than one set of rubber bands for weaving - especially if you took a ready-made "butterfly" with multi-colored "Fanny Lum".

  1. To continue making a souvenir, take off the gum bottles of the lower row in the center, put on the perimeter of the purple gum and drop the bottom row into the center two more times.
  2. To narrow the torso, transfer the rubber from the rightmost column of the bottom row to the next one - the left one. It is important at the same time not to remove the rubber band - it should remain on the two bars at the same time.
  3. Lower the "Fanny Lum" from the left column, remove the center, and the rubber band, thrown over two bars, remove from the far right, leaving only on the left column.

In the same way, weave all the corners of the rectangle. Now the trunk of the figure must remain on twelve columns instead of sixteen.

Make hands

There are very few left, so now you know how to weave Santa Claus out of the elastic bands. The next stage is the production of hands:

  • Throw the hook on the white rubber band in four turns, hook the two white gum hooks and drop all the loops on them.
  • Weave five more double purple gum. Then hook the crocheted one purple "Fanny Lum" and drop all the hinges on it from the hook. Repeat for the other hand.
  • Throw your hands on the side posts, on the others, put on purple rubber bands.
  • Remove the elastics of the lower row in the center, hand the hands inside the weave.

Now you can wiggle your head. For this, throw on the first row of columns white gum, and on the rest - violet.

Shaving your beard

How to make Santa Claus from rubber bands quickly and simply? Follow these instructions and try to weave the beard in the most interesting way:

  • Throw on the hook first one white elastic band in two turns, then the next. Pick up the elastic band crochet, drop all the hinges on it from the hook. Such rubber bands on the front row of columns, and on the rest, throw white "Fanny Lum" in the usual way.
  • Remove the rubber bands of the bottom row into the center. In the next three rows, cast such rubber bands around the entire perimeter of the weaving. In the third row, do not forget the pink bead for the nose.

The face is weaved from "Fanny Lum" flesh-colored:

  • Throw them on the four central pillars of the first row, then throw on the remaining columns of white beads for the beard.
  • Reset the lower bands in the center. On the columns of the first row, put on flesh-colored rubber bands, adding black beads to the eyes.

The next step is to narrow the weave. To do this, repeat the torso restriction described above. The figure must remain on eight columns.

The final stage

So that you could finish the weaving of gum, Santa Claus should be completely ready. It remains only to finish the manufacture of the head:

  • On the central pair of columns of the first row, throw a solid gum, the rest - white, in the usual way. Discard the center of the rubber bands of the lower row. Repeat.
  • Move the loops from the machine to a pair of hooks.
  • Turn out the resulting figure and fill it with sintepon. Put the hinges on one hook. Crochet the white rubber band, discard all the loops. Make the last loop and fill it inside the figure.

You've got a real folkloric character from children's fairy tales. And all that was needed for its creation is a small machine, several beads, two hooks and a set of rubber bands for weaving.
