Another convenient way is to fold the cap, in which the child is comfortable, in half and measure by a centimeter a semicircle of the head along the lower part of the cap (elastic band or cuff).

3rd stage: calculation of the density of knitting. To calculate the density of knitting, you must first determine the pattern. If several patterns are used in the cap, the design sample is knitted for each pattern. For measurement, a sample of 10 by 10 cm is knit. The resulting piece of cloth is washed and dried, and then stripped. After that, the ruler measures the number of loops, which enters into 1 cm of the canvas.

4-th stage: a set of the first row: if the cap is knitted from the bottom up, then to calculate the number of air loops of the first row, the calculation is made, where the head circumference in cm is multiplied by the number of loops per cm. For example, for a head circumference of 48 cm and with a density Knitting 2 loops in 1 cm you need to collect 96 loops. If the knitting is done from above, then you need to calculate the diameter of the bottom of the cap. To do this, measure the centimeter of the height of the head from the crown to the middle of the forehead and multiply by 2. For the lashes according to the same scheme as the bottom of the cap, a small circle is knitted, then, after tying 5-7 rows of a circle, knit without the addition of 4 to 5 rows.
